    4. Launch Trucha Bug Restorer, select the IOS to be used as 41 and choose Downgrade IOS 15… Continue normally as you would do it on 4.2…

    Start Trucha Bug Restorer again.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT DELETE ANY OTHER IOS OTHER THEN THE 4 ABOVE!

Launch the HBC then load AnyTitleDeleter.

You will probably get error messages when running this application. Just ignore them and follow the steps below.

Press A until you get to the title selection menu (you should only have to press A 2 times).

    Now go to System Titles

Now go to IOS222 and press A. It will ask if you are sure you want to delete it. Press A for YES.

    cIOS38_rev17:

Start the Homebrew Channel and run "cIOS38_rev17 Installer".

Select IOS36 for the IOS to use for Instillation.

    Select WAD Installation.

After the cIOS is installed the Wii should reboot to the Wii Channel menu.

Press A at the warning screen.
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37.
Make sure you get installation complete. If you do not and get an error then rerun this step again.

Launch the HBC and load the cIOS 222 installer.
Select IOS249 to perform the install
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60.
Make sure you get installation complete. If you do not and get an error then rerun this step again.

    INITIALIZING ERROR:

If you get a Initializing error when installing Hermie's 222/223 then do the below steps.

Do the DOWNGRADE IOS15/PATCH IOS36/RESTORE IOS15 again (make sure they do not give any errors).

Follow the ANY TITLE DELETER section again. If there is no IOS222 IOS223 IOS249 or IOS250 then don't worry about deleting them. If they are listed then delete them (you will get error messages with AnyTitleDeleter so ignore them).

Follow the cIOS38_rev17 section again. Make sure you select IOS36 for the IOS to run the installer with and you select NETWORK Install (DO NOT SELECT WAD INSTALL). Make sure it installs with no error.

Now try doing the Hermie's IOS222/223 section again.

I followed the guide until I got to the part where you install priiloader, of course, I got an error/freeze at the end which is fine cuz it installs anyway... SO, i turn my wii back on and it boots to MMM instead, so I go to manage priiloader (edit priiloader hacks) and I see a message telling me that I dont have the hacks for the correct menu version (449 = 4.1u) Oddly enough, i check the hacks and they are 448... so i get the ready-made 449 hacks from wiibrew and extract them to my SD card... MMM still tells me that I do not have the 449 version.. I checked, the hacks ARE version 449 and they are at the ROOT of my SD card (2gb) so I try to use the boot system menu via priiloader option and no go, it still boots back to MMM, i try to reboot wii, hold reset, anything, and I cant get out of MMM, did I brick or what.... when I go to display wii system info in the MMM main menu, it tells me i have 4.1u and all the other info, which means it installed fine... why can't i get out of MMM I need my system menu back, and no matter what I do, priiloader isnt loading, it goes back to MMM every time!!! Thank you in advance to anyone who helps me out, you're a LIFESAVER!!!!! THANKS!!!!
First extract the zip file in this post to the root of your SD card. That should fix your hacks.ini problem.

The reason MMM is booting every time is because you forgot to restore your original bootmii folder that you were supposed to backup in Chapter 1, Step 3. Do that and it should work fine.

It's the bootmii folder that you need to replace

Thank you so much you were right, now my wii boots to the system menu like it used to. You're a lifesaver, thank you.. One last question, if I may... I noticed there is one last slight problem.... if my SD card is not in the wii, the wii won't boot... just a black screen... if I put my SD back in, it works fine, any idea why that is?

And also, pardon me, I'm just running last checks to make sure everything is in order... If my SD card is not in it, the system menu wont boot, but if I hold reset, priiloader will.. Now, here's the other issue, if i choose the system menu option from priiloader, it gives me a stack dump.... it's almost as if the system menu is somehow in my SD and not in my wii..... any idea?

I just went to rent Metroid Other M but I hear it needs to "game update". I haven't inserted the disc yet because I couldn't find a guide to update system of how to skip this process. I'm 4.2 and I followed this mauifrog guide sucessfully. Do I need to do special steps? Better to ask before I mess something.

There is a guide on this, but I will go ahead and fill you in. Update IOS56, and block Disk Updates with Priiloader hacks.
