I followed this guide, no problems.
My Wii is from 2006, pretty old. The WiiMC shows 1.1 version, but when I get into the program, it says a new update is available. But I already updated 4 times and WiiMC is still saying there is a new update available. I tried also 2 DVD's, I don't have more this time.

I just modded my bran new black wii that came with 4.2U from the store and this guide worked exactly as it says, you just need a little common sense! Thank you very much Mauifrog, and all of those that have heavily contributed and asked questions on this thread since I read before hand and got some pointers. some obstacles I encountered, I bought a regular good old sandisk 2gb and my wii will not read it. I fixed this by buying a regular PNY. THank you very much once again!

Thanks so much for this tutorial! I Can finally play the games I imported!!!, only strange thing is in order to get the homebrew apps to work (save game manger gx, homebrew browser etc...) I had to download and install the latest versions after completing the guide...otherwise I kept getting DSI error + stack dumps. Anyway thank you so much for this, truly grateful!

When you say it is from 2006....are you looking at the copyright date or is that when you actually purchased the Wii? Download the new WiiMC from wiimc.org if needed. I use v1.0.4 with cIOS202 v5.1 (57 base) as it works the best for me.
