Hi! I searched the forums but no luck..

I already followed the tutorial and installed all the necessary files including DARKCORP succesfully and all works great.

Can my Wii already run dual layer disks with games like Samurai Warriors 3, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Metroid other M, etc.? Or do I still need to install some other things or patches and stuff?

    Thanks in advance!

I believe mauifrog addressed this in the tutorial:

You have all the current cios needs, so if you have any issue and so and so says use this cios, you have it.

Just compare the wads that you have now to the ones in the mod_pack wad folder. You will also need to extract the Any_wii_app_pack to your SD card.
So do you think I would be safe installing these additional wads even though I have downgraded to 4.1? This guide clearly states to install all wads before the downgrade to avoid bricking. This is the reason I am hesitating.

I previously had a softmodded V4.0 Wii, but someone else updated it without knowing the consequences. My Homebrew Channel is still intact though. Can I start the guide from Chapter 2, or would that be problematic?

You can start by running the hackmii installer and installing bootmii and making a nand backup. You can run the hackmii installer from your current HBC, no need for the exploit...just run it like any other app.

After that just continue with the guide from the step after making the nand backup.
    Damn I suck!!!!

Yes it is safe. You misunderstand the warning. If you were to not have IOS60 installed prior to downgrading then you would brick. It will not hurt to install the missing wads now that you have already downgraded. The wads you are missing have nothing to do with downgrading. You have IOS60 and system menu 4.1 so you are fine....just never mess with your IOS below 200 (the most important IOS being IOS60).

    Hi!

So I'm going to softmod my Wii any day. But I've got one issue.

I find this guide a little hard to follow? It doesn't seem to be very friendly to beginners.
I find ShadowSonic's and Messie's guides easier to follow.

Do all three guides make the exact same things to the Wii or do the different guides install different files etc.?

This guide seem to be a good one for people that are able to follow it, but I have some problems doing so.

    Example:
    Chapter 1 Part 2 says:
Part 2- Install The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii

But as far as I can see you download the Homebrew installation and Bootmii at Chapter 2? How can I then install them in Chapter 1 if they are downloaded in Chapter 2?

Also in some parts it's not stated when I should insert/take out my SDcard. While ShadowSonic's guide do cover that.

Im not giving this guide any negative rating, I'm just asking cause I'd like to follow this guide but I'm afraid I'll do anything wrong on the way due to it not being very beginner friendly.

I hope you don't think I'm a complete moron of some kind. I just want to have everything clear before I start doing some modding.

Please tell me what guide to follow, what to watch out for and what to do etc.etc.

    Thanks in advance.

The download for "homebrew" (the hackmii installer) is not in chapter 2 it is right at the beginning. The SD card thing is common sense. When you need it in your PC it should be in your PC when you need it in the Wii....well you get the point.

You should follow whatever guide you are most comfortable with. They all work....this one has some extras that can be very useful in certain situations.

I MUST THANK YOU FOR THE QUICK RESPONSE LOL

Ok thanks, I see. So going thru this Guide when you are actually Softmodding should be slightly easier?

As for me being a complete beginner to this and all that, excuse me for stating noob questions.

Just a quick question that just fell on my mind. The Homebrew Channel, after installation, will be on the harddisk inside the Wii, am I right?

    Thanks in advance.
