Au contraire, I think my post and yours supplemented each other rather well

And even if she does have an old system, modding with the Softmod Any Wii guide and using NeoGamma should be enough to be usable with disk backups vs using DarkCorp. But as the others said: USB is the way to go and can be done with any Wii (except Wii Mini, but I like to think that monstrosity didn't really exist).

I cannot remember when I last did this, how can I check?
Already have my Wii softmodded and all games works with Configurable USB loader so far.
Any reason to do this again?

Is there a way to just upgrade all ios, that seems to be the most important part?

    Do what? Check what?

You're last post other than this one was over 2 years ago. So I hope you're not trying to continue a conversation that old.

Start over. What are you wanting to do?

What I mean is that I cannot remember last time I went through all the steps and so far all games are working and if I should just go until I get a game that doesn't work.

How long as it been? Not a lot has changed in the last 3 years. So if you last modded it in 2011, it likely is still current enough to play most games.

If you are unsure, post a syscheck and we can look at it for you. Directions on how to generate and post one are linked in my signature.

After you do that, we will tell you that your system is good, or to go through Softmod Any Wii (this guide, just go back to page 1) and follow it from top to bottom. We usually don't suggest people cherry-pick from the guide, easier to just go through it all at once.

    Hi all

i am trying to mod my original 4.3E wii, and i went through and successfully installed the IOS updates etc... the shop and then downgraded it to 4.1 after having some difficulties. i had to use the IOS236 download/downgrade workaround. i also had an issue with wiimod where it would not load the wad folder, it would simply just keep displaying [apps] and [wad]

i could see that it changed to sd:/wad/wad/wad/wad/wad ---> all the way to the folder limitation, but it would not display the files. i managed to get it to work at some point, as i got them installed and continued with the guide as per normal

i then went to use priiloader and got an error about it not been able to be used (i cant remember it exactly), so after getting that error and the error in wiimod, i decided to start again. so, i used the 4.0-4.2 banner bome, and went through again but i am up to the steps where i need to update the wads etc... and it simply will not load them.

i had them in SD:/wad, and then i would keep dropping into the sub-directories, but not showing any files, i then tried to put them in the root directory, and it listed them, but failed on installing them all.

    what is wrong??

    cheers

    Jason

A whole slew of things is wrong...

Download THIS FILE and put it on the root of your SD card, then double click it. It will create a file called File List.txt. Upload that text file in your reply.

Run a syscheck, directions on how to do so are linked below in my sig. Post the resulting file in your reply as well.
