Thank you for your suggestion. It works using CFG.

I finished the guide and hacked 3 Wii's. I've used this guide in the past to hack my own Wii and everything went great. The hack/mod itself went smooth but my games won't run using any of the USB loaders unless I set the IOS to 251. When I do the screen turns black and a white loading bar appears. Any suggestions? Would like the games to boot properly, thanks!

I am having the exact same issue... but I'm having no luck in setting USBLGX's IOS to load. (And I too have modded a dozen or so Wii with this guide... so lost right now)

    Spoiler

    I did... I just don't know how to re-title a spoiler... it's inside there.

ok. I was using the mobile version of the site and the spoilers content didn't show up.

The mod looks good. I would make sure that you are using the latest version of GX and you delete any config files you see on your SD card to force a new set of defaults to be created based on the new version of GX, to see if any of that helps.

I've tried formatting the SD card and only putting apps/usbloadergx on there and I'm still getting HDD not found on this launch Wii.
If I set the loader to look on port 1, it will pick up the drive but only after failing to find it on port 0. I've tried switching the Y-cable around as well with no better results. If I set the loader to do both ports, it still fails to find one on port 0 (cuz it's not connected there) and eventually picks it up on port 1.

On my main Wii, I can connect this drive to it and it works perfectly so, I tried to copy the USBLGX app folder to the new SD card as is but it didn't work... Any other thoughts?

New to this. Searched but couldn't find much info. Have done all steps leading up to installing the homebrew channel and bootmii so far. Did the channel install but the system says bootmii can only be done as IOS. Is it recommended that I install it anyway even though it offers no brick protection?

Yes, since you need it to make your NAND backup. Only launch-year systems can have Bootmii installed as Boot2. All others are stuck with installing as IOS.
