Thanks for that, but unfortunately it didn't work. Still not able to keep it in FAT after formatting.
I can choose FAT32 if I use the windows formatter, but if I then format the sd card after that, it just changes right back to FAT.
Would I be okay to just change it to FAT32 after formatting from one of the tools, using the windows formatter?

You should never use the Windows formatter. We have a tool we like to use for SD cards and another tool we like to use for USB drives. We never suggest using Windows to format anything.

So short of getting a different SD card, is there anything I can do to get this card to stay in FAT32? Or does it not matter that it is in FAT.

I've tried both SD format tools in the guide itself, and the one you posted just on the last page. Maybe I'm selecting the wrong options in the tools?

If it helps, the SD card I am using is the SanDisk for Wii 1GB SD card.

    Edit:

Can I ask why you don't use the Windows Formatter? I'd really like to be able to softmod, and it seems just about the only way to get my SD Card into FAT32.

    Hi all.
First, sorry if it's not the correct place to ask it, but i can't find another place where i can ask it without open a new thread.

I softmoded my pal 4.3 system with letterbomb option. Wad manager is not in the list of the apps in ap-25.zip. I want to use it to install just dance wad. Can i just add priiloader to apps folder from modpack.zip? Any advice or special precaution to do that? (for instance, check files like i did when installing modpack package for the first time)

    Thanks

You have three different thoughts in one short paragraph. Let's slow things down and knock things out one at a time.

First off: regarding "just dance wads", you are supposed to buy your DLC, not install them from a .wad, so you won't get any help from us in that point.

I'm not sure what priiloader has to do with a wad manager. I'm not sure what you are trying to do.

So I know it says to use a 2GB SD card, but I've only been able to find a 4GB SD Card, if I'm soft modding my wii for the first time, is this acceptable?

Main issues would be either BootMii or WiiMod. If BootMii installs and WiiMod installs all wads without error (on a 4gb SDHC), then you're good. If not, guess what you'll need to find (yep, a fullsize 2gb SD card).
