A ways back, someone mentioned that a new hackmii installer version is out, and someone responded by saying not to use the new Home Brew Channel... did I miss something? aren't those 2 different things?

I'd also like to know why the please.hackmii.com site is still a site, and not an executable or something? Seems kind of dumb to have to rely on a website still being up in order to softmod our wiis...

    Edit:

Better yet, why is it not an open source project by now, or, is it, and I just haven't seen it?

    Edit2:
Oh, wiibrand, duh... But, that still needs to connect to the hackmii website... ugh.

The new Hackmii you're referring to (1.1.2) was made for the Wii U's Virtual Wii mode. All normal Wii's should stick with 1.1.0.

The Hackmii installed is what gives you the Homebrew channel so always be sure you read the description of which version you download. As stated, 1.1.2 was made for Wii U's vWii. You don't want to try installing vWii stuff on a normal Wii just as you shouldn't install normal Wii stuff on a vWii.

Try this - don't use the links on the system menu, instead go into the homebrew channel & launch from there. If you don't see them there, your SD card likely isnt configured properly.

Right, Im getting somewhere at last. I discarded my hdd, the one I used to extract wii games to and tried a flash drive. I formatted it with wiiback up manager and put two wii games on it. Bingo, I tried usb loader gx at firsy but got an error message telling me "usb device not found. Switching to channel list mode". I then tried wiiflow but rather than see the two games on my usb, the only option I had was to install, so I put my LOZ, Skyward sword into my wii but it failed to copy as there wasnt enough room on my usb flash drive (8gb). Lastly I tried Configurable usb loader and it worked. The only thing is that when I tried to download the covers, I kept getting an error but Im not concerned by that at the moment. I have ordered another external hard drive so will have to wait until it arrrives. Hopefully now, its sorted. I do prefer usbloader gx because its just what I am used to, its the only loader I have used. Is there any reason why usbloader gx didnt work??

You may need to delete the old config files. Delete everything out of the usbloader_gx folder except for boot.dol, meta.xml and icon.png.

Did you try formatting your old drive again? I thought you said it worked fine on a different Wii...

No what I meant was that I used the same tutorial to mod the 4.3 wii with the exception of using letter bomb and the wii worked first time. I had another hard drive which belonged to the person whos wii I did. Thier wii is working like a dream. I have got another hdd but I used it on my rgh. Ive ordered another hdd and its on its way (hopefully). I need to get my games off my hdd but cant access it either through my pc or laptop via my computer or Wii backup manager or wbfs. Thinks its dying or dead.
