No, you will not need to redo the guide. Your mod does not get transferred. The only things that will be transferred are: Games saves, Mii's and anything purchased in the Shop Channel.

Keep in mind once you transfer this data it cannot be copied back to the old Wii.

If i got a wii u i probably wouldnt transfer any data tbh, it seems to be more of a permanent move thing than a copy and i havent purchased anything from wii shop yet. wish they had a way of registering your GC discs so you dont have to rebuy the game for it

So, I followed all the steps, got to the last one, but when I try to start USBloader, WiiFlow or anything else it just freezes on the splash screen. Any suggestions?

It's not "just IOS 236." Did you use MMM instead of WiiMod? More importantly, did you use the RECOMMENDED SD card? Full 2gb SD. Not a MicroSD in adapter, nor SDHC card. And FULLY formatted (ie, not "quick") as FAT32?

@voice: didn't really answer the question posed, but I suppose we'll file it under "irrelevant" at this point. Thanks for advising issue resolved.

im also guessing that the wii to wiiu transfer wouldnt affect anything homebrew like vc game wads? (I installed japanese paper mario and freed it to run at 480P to stop distortion)
