I think I have 5-6 bad blocks in my boot2 system.

I will just leave it as its not huting anything.
i dragged the old channels to the second screen, in case i needed them as backup. then after a couple weeks of the system working fine after following this guide, i deleted them.

i wanted my screens to be as uncluttered and simple as possible, not for my kids' sake, but for my wife's :-)

    Bricked Wii Needs Asssitance

Needing some serious help here. I soft modded my Wii a long time ago to 4.2u and I stopped using it years after...the kids now have it and it was in their room. Some how they managed to connect to the internet and the system tried to do a system update (which kept failing error 32004)..so then they decided to run the Format System option in the menu.

All They were trying to do was get Netflix..and should have just asked me.

Now I can't update..homebrew and my loaders are gone..and it's been so long since I used the stuff I don't remember anything. Holding RESET still gets me into Bootmii but not sure what to do from there. I tried following this guide thinking maybe starting from start would work but when I go to SD Icon or the SD portion of Saved data...it's blank..

Any ideas..been searching and reading for hours. I'd really just like to Virginize it so they can use Netflix...I saw a Virginize guide on these forums but it required Homebrew which I have lost...totally unsure what to do here or maybe it's ruined and I'll just have to get a Roku box.

Forgot to clarify, when I use the files in the first step nothing shows, I tried options B and C and that causes it to lockup whenI click the SD icon.

    Edit:
Okay not sure how but the first file ended up working..I am not sure how but I am up to the NAND backup step now.

Alternatively to what I said above..I may want to just keep the HBC and hacks in place..but still use Netflix..is this possible? Not required though since my kids won't be using any hacks/Homebrew..just figured would save time.

Now that you have the Homebrew Channel you can continue with this entire guide. Make sure you do the 4.1 downgrade (if you are not on 4.1), and the shop channel update. Then you can download netflix. Afterwards, if you really want to delete the HBC go ahead. Its as simple as using bannerbomb to get it back if you need it.

Just an update, it actually worked, just finished the entire guide including the 4.1 step. All works and Netflix is going. Funny as I had priiloader installed before and I never enabled the right protections to prevent updates.

All sorted and good now Thanks everyone

Thanks. Sorry about the mix up about the status of your system. For some reason, I thought this was a brick repair, not an "oops, I just lost HBC". I'll move this thread back to where it started.

Hey, no problem, I actually though it was bricked

However, turns out I still have one issue. I was able to go on Wii Shop and get Netflix...and it runs..but when I run it it says my internet connection failed. (Which is dumb since I JUST dl'd netflix with it?)

Post a syscheck. It may be that the reset messed up the IOS's. Directions on how to generate and post a syscheck are in my signature.

We do indeed like the occasional in-thread thanks :-) (it reminds us why we like to do this stuff with able-bodied folks who ask and listen to given advice)
