I find the Wii a better GameCube player than the GameCube is. I've burned through three GameCubes over the years, where I'm still on my launch Wii.

Can I skip adding some forwarders from chapter 3 to my SD card? I only need USB Loader GX & Backup HBC.

When I bought a used system from GameStop I found outit didn't read dual layer games. I didn't notice this till it was too late to return it so you may want to test that (dual layer games are only a few like xenoblade, smash bros, other m, prime trilogy)

I sent it to nintendo along with my other m disc for a free repair but the refused to work on it because of the GameStop sticker on it.

Actually the forwarders are installed in Chapter 2 with the modpack. All you need to do is delete the channel using the Wii's Data Management. If you wish you could delete the apps from your SD card as well.

About to grab a Wii again as my kids are getting to the age they can start playing video games. I'm going to grab a used one from either cowboom or gamestop haven't decided yet. Anything I should look out for to get the best compatibility with softmodding? I'm prefer a red or black wii if that matters. I'll also be using a USB hard drive to store/load games on.

Look for a Wii with GC ports, better chance it'll be an old boot2 Wii which gives more options of restoring from a brick.

You will have to set the game to force the video output of the games that don't work to the required output.

If you have a PAL TV, set the video mode to FORCE PAL, etc.

Hi. First of all i would like to thanks for a wonderful guide. It just works perfectly. But now i have encountered a weird issue. Today my son has put some new games into the harddrive and after he fired up Wiiflow, it said it couldnīt find any games at all. We then realized that we have connected the usb cable from the harddrive into the other port of Wii console (not the port we used to use). So we reconnected cable to the right port again and we got all the games back but all the cover couldnīt show up. Any ideas or how we can have the cover up again. We followed the guide from the first page and all worked perfectly from the begining. Thanks in advance.

What might have happened was the config file was written to the USB initially. When you moved the hard drive to the other port, it wasn't found so created one on the SD card. When you plugged the USB back in, it continued to use the config in the SD card, which is different from the USB and tells it to look for box art in different places.

You can dig through the SD card and USB drive to find the box art images and the config files and make them work, or you can just redownload the box art again and things will work as you expect it afterwards.

Depends on how much effort you want to put into it, and if you care where the box art images are stored.
