You don't have to worry about emunand do play your games from a USB hard drive. If you've modded your system and installed the App Pack from chapter 3 of the guide, you have three USB Loaders already. Boot one up, make sure it can mount your hard drive, and then put in your Wii Disks and install them (directions slightly differ depending on which one, buy all of them have an install feature).
When installed, you can play the game without the game disk in the system using the data off of the hard drive.
Thanks for the reply. I loaded the Configurable USB loader and as I write this am transferring my first game Hope it works.
Can i also use the loaders to transfer vc & wiiware titles to the hdd?
I think I am the victim of a bug though, and wondering if anyone can help me? NONE of the 3 loaders work for me now...Wiiflow was the only one that worked for me before, and now it doesn't after updating...
USB Loader GX and CFG Loader never would work before or since...and its really weird you know? Cuz USB Loader GX actually detects my USB HDD, it can even tell me how much free space is on the thing...WII MC works fine, and I can stream video off of the USB HDD with it and navigate ALL the directories...I just cannot get any loaders to recognize my games...they are in a directory on the root of the drive called "WBFS", and they are all in custom directories that Wii Game Manager created while doing a "create .wbfs file with subdirectories and no split option" on my ISO backups...the drive is formatted NTFS but by all accounts that seems best...
Is there a known bug where the games just are not recognized by these loaders? Is there any reason why the OLD version of Wiiflow (installed by this guide) would be the ONLY thing that could read them?
Try reripping the games from your original game disks directly from the loader. I can't think of anything that would make it behave like it is. Try posting a syscheck (directions on how to do so are in my sig) to see if anything there comes up.
Hi there, Been following the guide. Got to the part about installing wads and was doing as the guide suggested. First 2 wads installed NP no errors, Got to the third wad and get the error "wii mod error opening wiiflow-fix94 11 forwarder-dwfa.wad"... I verified all my checksums before I started the process... Sadly my problem doesn't seem to end there. After getting a few errors trying to install that wad I hit B to back out to wii mods main menu as instructed, and began to check google and this thread for help. However, now when I go back to the wad manager the list is no longer populated, and pressing 1 does nothing.
Any help would be appreciated. I was worried when the wad failed, now I'm panicked since the card now suddenly seems empty...
I am assuming i should re load the card with all the files from the previous step, and re check their checksums and hope it works on attempt 2?
I am expecting to have to do a system check to give the details needed. but just the quick and simple its a 4.3u

question: can i exit to system menu(not proceed to the next step in chapter 2),if a wad or more fails to install in Wiimod
that was what i did, and when i re entered wii mod my card was blank... I don't know for sure if exiting wii mod after i had a failed .wad caused that issue. So maybe hold off till someone replies to my post?
Edit 1- I am currently re formatting my sd card to try to put everything from chapter 2 back on it, with the addition of system check so I can post more details if anyone is willing to help.
Edit 2- Seems a few people in this thread have had an issue installing the same .wad as myself, but I couldn't find updates on how they fixed their issues...
Edit 3- Been going through google like mad trying to find a fix for my issue, nothing yet ; ;
Edit 4- Formatted the SD card, put everything from chapter 2 back on it, re checked checksums and made sure the paths and file names were all correct. Went back into wii mod, and the wad manager... card is still appearing empty. Just ran a system check, going to make the file readable and post it...
Edit 5- System check

Edit 6- Tried a different SD card with all the files on it, went into wad manager and the files were there again. Pressed 1 to install all of them, so far so good...
30/30 updated ^^.
I guess that leaves me with my last question. Should i downgrade my 4.3 to 4.1 like it sorta suggest in the spoiler?
Did a bunch more reading, seems like I will be downgrading to 4.1

And after all that, I ended up putting the 4.1E files onto my wii... Assuming i messed something up by doing that? or is it possible to just overwrite them with the 4.1U files?
Edit- I put the 4.1u files on and updated the wads. it seemed to work fine...

Let me give you a laugh! I figured out my problem late last night!
I had named the folder on the root of my USB HDD "WBFS"...guess what? All the loaders hate that folder named in capital letters! (Only the older version of Wiiflow seemed to not care)...
Renaming the folder to "wbfs" fixed my problems with loaders detecting my games immediately...
Sigh, thanks for the help guys!
no matter what i do, superSFV opens for a quick second thn i get a message tht says it quit unexpectedly. ive deleted it and redownloaded it 3 times now and i keep getting the problem. gonna restart my macbook n see if that helps. any suggestions cuz i cant proceed without doing this. ive modded my old wii couple years ago but i was on a windows computer. mac is too restricted. everything is made for pc which sux. any suggestions would b great
