i have done this before and not downgraded..... so maybe I wont again. I wasnt even thinking about it this time.. thanks a bunch.
Downgrading is really no more risky than updating so long as you do it as the guide says. But it is also optional so you don't have to, I have downgraded from 4.2 to 4.1 and there was no issues for me.Originally Posted by Fenty
The best advice if you're going to downgrade is thus:
Have a NAND backup and, if possible, BootMii installed as boot2.
Have Priiloader installed (not only will it block Nintendo from updating your Wii, it will also allow you to bypass the system menu in case of a brick)
Make sure before installing the required files to downgrade that you have read and completely understand the guide. This includes properly performing the MD5 check to make sure the wads are not corrupt.
Haaha! I suppose I am. My DVD player went boing and I'm looking for a cheap ~ or FREE ~ alternative. Sorry for the repetitiveness. Being a Net nerd since the early nineties has made me a very cynical boy. And now we have FaceBook and the truth is even more fleeting. I tend to believe nothing I'm told and about half of what I see. Guess I'll have to open my dusty wallet after all.
Thanx for the info and the patience.
sigh of relief. got it all figured out and my wii is done and done now... cant wait to go play it!!! missed it so much!
speaking of my last wii has no sound or picture, its not the cords.....anyone had the issue? I know this isnt where this should be posted. ill find where it goes and fix that!
I was wondering about this....I never installed Darkcorp (not even really sure what it is) but I followed this guide and my wii plays backup disc straight from the disc channel. Is the info I quoted out of date information?Loading From Disc-
If you have a Wii purchased after mid to late 2009 it will not be able to read backup discs. Backup discs must be loaded from a disc loader, such as Neogamma. They will not work from the disc channel unless you have installed Darkcorp.
