I helped someone in chat this weekend that sounds familiar to this. She would try to load BootMii and get a blank screen instead of the exected 4 icons.

I had her start over with the mod, but instead use the "for systems with HBC already installed", since she was able to get that installed in her first attempt. After that, things went smoothly.

Hi. Thanks for the great guide.

I am softmodding for my nephew and am not sure what controller he has. It is a surprise for his birthday so I'd rather not ask him. In part 2 of the guide it asks you to either load Priiloader 236 mod or Priiloader for Motion Plus. If I loaded the Motion Plus Priiloader and he didn't have motion plus would this make it unusable? I understand that the other way around would.
On another note, when I modded my Wii I didn't have Motion Plus but now I do. Will I need to softmod my Wii again?
Just to clarify the controller you are talking about that takes the beta version of the priiloader are the controllers where you insert the motion controller unit to the bottom of any remote, or are these controllers new controllers with it built in?
    Thanks.

While usually we don't advocate installing "beta" software until it's had time to make sure it's all good, the version for motion plus has been around long enough, without any problems that I know of, so there is no harm in installing the motion plus version (v0.8) vs. the other version (v0.7).

The v0.8 verison will work with any remote, v0.7 will only work with the older ones.

0.8 may even be out of beta now all together, I'm not completely sure on that. But if there is a doubt as to the version of remote your nephew has, install the 0.8.

The problematic controllers are the ones with the motion plus built in.

Weird, I used my Motion+ built in remote when I did a friends Wii (and when I did mine) and it all went with no issues. I wonder if there is another factor as well?

Its not all motion plus controllers. Just the ones made after Nov 2011. And yes, that is definitely the whole problem. Look here for more info about it. The thread is older, so most every app has been made compatible since then, but for a time period there was no support at all for motion plus controller with the TR designation, which is why alot of us went recompiling apps desperately trying to fix the problem

Ah, that explains it. Thanks. I'm pretty sure mine is from 2010.

Question Chapter 1 to Chapter 2: Transition

Do I have to keep the files from the end of Chapter 1 on my SD card after I back them up? I removed the files from the SD card from Chapter 1, and downloaded the Chapter 2 files. Do the files from both chapters have to be there?
