    @morashid:

You installed it in Part 2, yes? Not sure if you're asking like "it's still there on the HBC channel, can I delete it?" or if you're going "oh, crap I didn't pay attention and didn't bother following the tutorial," lol. Care to elaborate?

On the latter-most question, sounds like you didn't either fully read or comprehend the material in Chapter 3. Re-read it, should answer the question in the way that you're asking.

    Hello....Your help is needed!!!!

Back in October 2010 I softmodded my 4.1e euro/pal wii with the softmod any wii guide then. All went really great and no problems atall.
I use verbatim dvd-r an imageburn and never had problem with backups playing in neogamma channel till last week I noticed that some were not playing and keep getting error: 1167 or error DVD+r,bad burn,I'd error.
I had updated the homebrew browser I'm sure just before I noticed the problem.
The system check reported no problems and all was working fine but just errors in neogamma.

I have now used your updated softmod any wii and all has gone well but still cannot get backups to play in neogamma r8 or r9 56. Checked what drive I have in wii and is RVL-001 eur. All other wii games work in disc channel.
Tested all backups and half of them work the other half don't. They all used to work before.
Have been searching to look for a fix or help with this but not getting much joy.

Also the mplayer CE that I use to play DVDs on use to play dvd-r discs and they are not playing either just says format not supported. They worked before.
The same in wii mc I get dvd-r not supported.

Please can you advise anything....much appreciated
    THANKYOU

If I have to change and get a hard drive, would you recommend a certain make/brand of 500gb that works with this softmod on 4.1e and with wiiflow and loader?
I have looked through compatibility but is knowing which to look at getting.

    Many thanks )

You never sent this in for warranty work, right? Right off, it almost sounds like you have a D3-2 or D4 unit (meaning, incapable of playing backups). But the other material you mean doesn't seem to support this (unless see my first sentence).

And if you're aware of the compatibility guide, then that would best advise you. On the burned discs: were they the Verbatim with Azo dye? I ask as there's a Verbatim "Life Series" that are CMC MAG media (no Azo dye, total junk). You could, of course try an entirely different loader like USB Loader GX...

    Thanks for your quick reply.
no not sent in for warranty work atall.
im asking a silly question: why would I have been able to play backups since 2010 but just now only half are playing and others not.
I'm not up on the types of discs that much, all I know is they have all been verbatim dvd-r 4.7gb,16x speed,120min an looks like have blue rim on back to edge and centre.
i have tried philips dvd-r discs an they were ok but again burned 5 an no good, not working.
    stuck with verbatim ones.
i will have a look for the life series discs

    thankyou

The "Life Series" Verbatim is to be avoided at all costs. Phillips = CMC MAG media code (aka same as Life Series, JUNK JUNK JUNK). Only use Verbatims with Azo Dye or Taiyo Yudens (those are generally mail order only on the latter).

Humor me and post a SysCheck as described here as a reply to this thread. Also, you never told me if you tried another loader. Another loader and/or another cIOS would be easy enough for you to try and report back on...

The sleep mode on the HDD was set to 30 minutes. I changed it to never and tried again. No difference.

I tried to run MarioKart and got as far as selecting single player before everything becomes unusable.

I am not sure if this will help, but here is the syscheck.

    Spoiler

Thanks for your help. This is really frustrating.

"Press B to go back to the original screen with all of the other wads listed and continue with the guide."

My remote (rvl-003) doesn't have a B button its got: 1,2,+,-,home,A,directional pad, and trigger. What button do I press if I need to go back during the wad process?

how can I region change with the new guide? The only place where I can actually set the region is in pleasehackmii. But with the old guide the new Wii region was set by installing the respective modpack.
