Only install the WAD for your region.

Ok so after installing everything and downgrading from 4.3U to 4.1U and doing a nand back up, should I or can I install bootmii as boot2? Seeing how now I'm on SM 4.1? Or does it not matter at this point.

If you actually, you know --- READ --- the guide, um you'd know the answer. Let me put it this way: which happens first in the guide? If you "didn't bother with" BootMii, that's unfortunately rather telling.

If you installed it as an IOS (and had the option for boot2 install), by all means install as boot2 -- you know, like the guide told you to do before doing a NAND backup and before SM downgrade.

Hey everyone! I am new to this forum and need some help. Earlier I softmodded my Wii using this guide and I have run into some issues. Everything seemed to go without a hitch, but when I try and load any of the homebrew apps besides hbc and neogamma, I am dumped back to the wii menu. IDK whats up and could use some help.

    Sorry thanks!

Now whenever I try to play a backup I made of Melee in WiiFlow, the system crashes back to the menu. WiiFlow doesnt even recognize the game is there and USB loader GX crashes to start...

Ummmm errr derrr I did read the guide, I just thought that now that I am on SM 4.1U I would be able to. Either way I followed the guide expect I couldn't get the exploit thru letterbomb and everything went without a single problem. I have my NAND back up and everything Is running just find so thank you and everyone else for the help now I just need to figure out the whole backing up my games and formating my drive to wbfs and getting it to actually play games thru a usb loader. Anyway thanks again

Going back to what appeared to be your (previous) question: you installed BootMii, yes? If so, did you install it boot2 or IOS (or both)? If you have the ability to install as boot2 (the Wii would have to be like 5 yrs old or perhaps older), please make sure you do. Newer wiis (5 years old or newer, thereabouts) will only install BootMii as IOS.

In either case, you need to have it installed. As an IOS, it can be "wiped out" in a catastrophic type situation; as boot2, short of hardware failure it can't be wiped out. The System Menu version has nothing to do with whether a Boot2 install can happen.

Concerning your hard drive, FAT32 is the current thinking and the guide for it is here. WBFS is valid as well, but has fallen out of favor as time has passed. There's an older guide for that here.

Note USB hard drive compatibility guide can be found here.

Yes Bootmii was installed and it was installed as IOS because The installer said I was not able to install it as Boot2

I don't know what would be a "catastrophic" type situation but I hope since I did fallow this guide every step of the way except I got the exploit through
Wilbrand Launcher. But besides that everything went without any issues, problems or hick ups

I do not have an HDD as of yet but I want to use my 16gb Sandisk Cruzer flash drive which is compatible.

Thanks for the guides I will look in to those next.
