Question Wii Shop Channel requires stupid update!!!!

My Wii System Menu is 4.1u (changed from Korean). I've followed through this guide and installed Wii Shop Channel - "RVL-Shopping-v21.zip". When I lauch this channel it requires me to accept User Agreement.....I have to update my Wii to accept that in order to use Shop Channel. Are there any way to bypass that or I have to update my Wii (by somehow with the softmoded Wii)?

Question Quick Question About Updating My Softmod

I just purchased a modded wii/hdd combo, it seems to have been modded with this guide (or something very similar). The previous owner kept mentioning that "new games wont really copy/play" via the loader's, which makes me think that the softmod is probably older and needs to be updated. Before i start the process, i want to be sure that the whole process wont render the games on the hdd useless (it came with about 7 games backed-up on a hdd, the disks are in mostly scratched/bad shape).Hopefully a knowlegable modder can put my mind at ease before i undertake the process of updating the softmod on my new wii. Thanks! =)

Not really supporting piracy, by the following statment

So long as a hard drive contains a 'wbfs' folder, and said hard drive is not reformatted, modifying a wii will not effect the hard drive where stored games are. I could take your hard drive, connect it to mine, and so long as it has a wbfs folder on it, my wii's USB loader would recognize the games on the drive. When modifying a wii, you're only affecting the SD card, and the Nand memory. Unless you elect to have it store other things on the drive as well.

Fact of the matter is, you would probably leave the drive disconnected while performing the Wii-mod.

Thanks for the fast reply omegaman7. I figured as much but doesnt hurt to double check! =)

I purchased the games as well as the HDD with the backups of the games, I dont really intend to participate in piracy, but if the disks do not function its nice to have a backup system =)

softmod install/update successful! Thanks Mauifrog and Wiihacks!

Hi, I bought my first gaming console and just made softmode (thanks for tutorial) and I have a little big problem - my wiimote doesn't work with homebrew applications, it just turn off blue light. I have read here at forum that problem is with new controllers, I don't want to buy old one (I already have 2 new wiimotes). Is there any way how to run emulator for old games (I wanted nintendo 64 games) or at least usb loader?

All of the USB loaders included in this guide support the new remotes. If you are having problems with that, try doing a hard reset by holding in the sync button on your console for 15 seconds at the health screen, then resync each wii remote one by one.

Edit: Not all old apps have been recompiled to use the new remotes. You will have to do some searching to see if the ones you are wanting have been recompiled.

So I just completed the softmod as directed, but it didn't mention d2x cios as far as I recall. Should I go ahead and install it for good measure?

Thanks for the reply cjizzle! Do you recommend any additional enhancements aside from what is included in the standard softmod?

In terms of loader issues with games, at this point its just going to be little setting tweeks to fix loading blackscreens?

ok so i tried reinstalling the loader but it still has the same problem. I started the hack again and used letterbomb, it seemed to install homebrew and says success to installing homebrew but homebrew goes crazy when i try and use it (has a mind of its own, screen pops up with info regarding sd or usb etc then the window goes away and pops back up again, it basically keeps doing this and i have no control of the homebrew channel it eventually seems to just freeze) and i cant use it to complete the final steps of the guide. Any ideas?
