I did format the sd card. I did not see any alternative .dol files. I tried all of the alternative aadxx_v108.zip files though.
Followed the steps. When i got to install wads they started to install ( i could see them start) . I looked away to text my buddy and when i glanced back up the screen was blank except for wii mod v3.2 on the top of the screen ....... Waited for a bit and still blank screen with the dvd drive glowing an angry blue at me. Restarted wii.\ and all seems fine.
Go back to home brew channel. Load wii mod. scrool down to wad manager ... mounting device then retreving file list.
so i scroll down to wad and hit (a) button. just shows me the same four files again. i can go on for infiniyum ... shows sd:/wad/wad/wad/wad/wad i can just keep going for evah ....
possible issues. i used 32 gb sdhc card but its worked fine till now. I will try a non-hc tomorrow.
other issue could be i thought this was going too easy so perhaps i jinxed myself ?!?!??
Any help is appreciated ..... thanks.
I want to thank everyone for their help. I got mine working last night. I ended up having my wii accept an update from nintendo to v4.3 and then used ModMii to make all my files for the sd card. Apparently I'm too dumb to do it myself even though the parts I did here were the same. ModMii uses letterbomb.
I know everyone says not to accept any automatic updates but since my wii was new (to me) and didn't have any hacks yet, there was nothing for me to lose. After a little research I found that usually the consequences for updating your wii is that you lose your hacks and have to start over. I would hate for that to happen now after everything I did last night so I went ahead and disabled any future updates from nintendo.
Again, thanks for all your help
Thank you guys for this wonderful guide. I got everything working except that whenever I try to install a channel, say for an emulator or WiiMC through the Homebrew Channel, my Wii freezes up. I have to hold on to the power button to shut it off and turn it back on again.
It's the latest model Wii with no Gamecube support. I'm using a MotionPlus controller. Do I need to use a non-Plus controller?
Thanks very much, i tested this method to replace another from other web that does not worked with NTFS external disks... But this one, runs great at the first time.
Now I am using a Seagate 320GB SATA2 with a Thermaltake Silver River II case to play my backups...
I have a few questions. I used the "Complete Softmod Guide" to letterbomb my wii and install Homebrew Channel. I did the nand backup thing.
Should I just start from chapter 2 of this guide? If that's the case, it asks me to "format your sd card" before extracting the modpack zip to it, but it's already formatted to FAT32, what should I do, and more importantly, how?
Also, chapter 2 asks if I would like to update my ios, which is ios58 v24.32. Should I do this step? I'm planning to play wii and gamecube ISO's via USB HDD don't know if that affects or matters.

If u already have HBC, bootmii and a nand backup then yes start from chapter 2 and do everything that the guide tells u to do
