@BXLGND - We recommend that all wiis run 4.1. It's the defacto best system menu. He did it likely because the guide told him to.

Isn't there another guide of things you shouldn't do and one of them is downgrade a late 2011 Wii.

Thank you sir, this solved the problem... i was convicted my hdd would work, because it works on my wii and dont work on this one.

Now with a usbkey it works just fine, so my hdd is not compatible with this wii somehow.

The information on this guide is current. Long ago there was some risk to downgrading a Wii, but that information is considerably out of date. I have personally used this guide (or earlier versions of the same) on new wiis, old wiis, black wiis, white wiis, and even one red wii!

I've followed this guide word for word and I am at the part where I should be launching Priiloader.
My Wiimote is compatible, so I use Priiloader 236 Mod (the first one, 0.7).
After reading the warning and hitting +, it says this:

    "Checking for Priiloader. . .
Priiloader not found, aborting misson. . ."

I held the reset button when it took me back to the Homebrew Channel for almost 30 seconds, and all it did was take me to the Wii Menu.
I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly.
I even tried the same method with the other Priiloader (0.8 beta 4) and it yielded the same aforementioned results.

If it helps, everything else in the guide has given me no problems, and I have installed the IOS updates and Home Shopping Channel update even though my wii is a 4.3U.

yeah I ended up just going for it because i'm a risk taker like that, but mostly because it wasn't my wii so if it breaks, it breaks, I lose nothing. :P

Try a different SD card but Priiloader, being a very usefull tool, is not needed for you to finish with the guide.
