When I then choose wad manager in MMM I get wads and directories showing up including ios60-compatability test wad, I press 1 for batch install but only about 5 install. I then go to IOS update in MMM and see 25 wads and all install no problem, I believe these to be the IOS's mentioned that must all install in the thread ( i think ) I can then go no further. Maybe because wiimod won't open that is whats throwing me off the correct process but I'm at a loss and in need of some direction
    Thanks in advance
There is a total of 55 wads that needs to be installed in two steps. First 30 then 25. You seem to be installing the second set without completing the first. Go back to the guide and follow it slowly and carefully. Do an md5 checksum on the files you've extracted as the guide suggests to make sure the files are not corrupt. If you still only are able to install 5 wads from the first set, try doing them one by one until all 30 wads are installed.

Thanks BxLgnd, I did the md5 checksums already and all came back ok. I keep getting error (-2011) on the wads that I need installing. I took your advice and in fact not one of the 30 wads install, but the other 25 do with no problem, so there must be something wrong or I am missing something
    Thanks again

Sorry but I am unable to help you any further. Perhaps the OP or someone with more experience with errors can help you out.

Upgrading to 4.3 and then following the guide to mod a 4.3 system worked. Thanks!

can someone help me out here? i'm reinstalling this soft mod for somebody. I don't know the details of what happened but basically it stopped working for them, and they proceeded to update/format/both/ who knows what else and now i'm back to square one with this.

I'm in the very first Chapter. I can successfully install WiiMod-58-61_Hackmii_1.1.0_BB1.zip (for wii version u4.1), no freeze here.

but when it comes to installing the hackmii installer after deleting boot.dol and renaming the hackmii file to boot.elf, I proceed to boot up on the sd card menu and freezes.

I tried alternate b,c,d,e but none can get me anywhere.

what do I try from here?

EDIT: I figured out the problem. For some reason I downloaded the bannerbomb v2 for my 4.1u (supposedly) wii and it worked. is it safe to proceed? because I don't see a reason why v1 didn't want to work for me because the guide clearly states it should have.

i'm backing up the nand file so I guess it seems okay thus far.

Question game load but then freeze

Hey there, thank you for the amazing guide i have softmoded my wii for a year or so with this guide.

Now a friend asked me for help, i followed all in the guide but i having this problem:

The homebrew apps runs just fine, when i load a backup from my usb it works but then freezes. (it takes around 10 sec to freeze)

The wii is from november 2011 (4.3E but i have downgraded to 4.1 using this guide)

The original wiimote is TR version but im using my old one.

I have no idea what to do anymore, i've used the tool to format the SD, checked the md5, followed all clues, now im clueless...

    So I find myself here:

<<No posting links to other guides>>

Reading this guide literally results in an SD card containing boot.elf and a folder called title which contains a folder named AKTN which in turn contains content.bin.
Sorry, but I have to say this: If you want to use someone elses guide, go there for help. If you want help here, use our guide. We dont know what other people are recommending, and we don't really care to find out, because this guide just works.

So on to your softmodding. Lets start simple: You'll need a 1 or 2 gig (NO BIGGER) SD card. If you have problems, format it with the SDFORMAT program.

If you followed the guide completely you have the Wiihacks recommended cioses installed. This should allow most any modern loader to load virtually any game on a compatible hard drive. Do you get anything in the games at all (the how to hold wiimote screen) or does it just go black? You could try to eliminate the hard drive as an issue by substituting another (a usb key would even work for testing purposes). If the gameplay actually starts, it may be that your HD has powersaving enabled. This doesnt work well with the wii. Find out if theres a program (seagate/etc have one) to disable this "feature".

Next step will be to get a syscheck posted

    Read here:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...tem-check.html

    Then post results here:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/software-bac...heck-here.html

This will give us some info about how ur console is setup and we can help correct any issues.

I have to ask why you downgraded the system menu especially on a late 2011 Wii? Try a different USB device to rule that out as an issue. If it still is a problem, go through the guide again and apply the IOS Update zip and see if that helps.
