Everything stays on the sd card in chapter 3. Maybe you should go back and re-read it...

The channels you just installed on the Wii are shortcuts to the apps that are on your sd card. You have to have them on your sd card to be able to use them.

How do I update my system menu firmware? Before I softmodded my wii, it was at 3.3U. After following every step in this thread, my wii was successfully softmodded. I could play any games via my usb flash drive without a problem. However, when I went to the wii settings, it still showed firmware 3.3U, not 4.2U. So I did chapters 2 and 3 again in hopes of updating the system menu, however, it didn't work. It is still at 3.3U. Can someone please direct me on how to update it to the latest?

Did you follow the steps at the end of Chapter 2, Part 1 that had the spoiler tag: Downgrade to/Upgrade to/Install System Menu v4.1 (Optional, but Recommended!!) ? If not, do that step.

OK, out of the game for a while but looking to "wipe" my softmod and get a clean slate. Currently using WiiMC and a External HD reading program that is running pretty well. Any recent articles on how to upgrade or wipe and start over?

You can go through the current mod from page 1 and do the steps on top of whatever state your current system is in. Don't reset, format, delete anything. Just remod on top of what you have.

Thanks, got that from some more searches. Start from Chapter 2 on "mod any wii". Appreciate the direction.

Great guide, hindered only by error on my part. Thanks!

I registered just to thank you!! I dont think i missed anything in the beginning of the tut, but i cant read 1500 pages of responses! after seeing my question go unanswered 3 times previously asked by others i was so aggrivated, i have yet to fix the issue i just had to thank you for posting your updated status so others can learn as well!!

Edit: The problem was having a previously modded wii and wiimod was ending up with a black screen.
