Well, it is listed as optional and if you install the IOS pack it's a non-stubbed IOS60 (what SM 4.1 uses), so it'd prevent a brick (again if users follow the tutorial). If you mean in terms of explaining the intended target audience (hardmodded/softmodded combo users), I suppose. Mauifrog did have that as a separate thread; I simply think he consolidated things into one guide.

If you bought your Wii recently it might have a D3-2 drive( drive that won't let the Wii read disc backups) so your only option is USB loading.

of course if you follow everything you will be fine, it just when you don't follow or miss a step thats when your kicking your self in the arse. Yes it is listed as optional which is the reason why i did not downgrade as i see no reason to do it at least not yet.

    Hello Thanks ina dvance.

I have a few things I need help with. Wii Virgin 4.3u

Looking to play backups via disc or Usb

    First:
I am trying to d/l the ModPack-AnyWii.zip and it is requiring a password?

Next I have Homebrew and BootMii installed, but everytime I go to load an app(DVDX or Boot_Launcher) the screen goes black And the remote disconects

Also and this is a n00b Q but in this step
Press Power, Power, Power, Reset, Reset (or use gc-controller)
Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select

What button is reset or do you mean reset on the system?

Is it posible to play DVD-R backups or USB Backups with 4.3u?

    Thanks for all your help...

Did you install all wads in the modpack without error ? Did you install the correct system menu ? If you have a korean Wii with serial LKM_ _ _ you should have changed the region first .

    Question

    Hello everybody,

I have discovered hacking joy with your website for a while, and I never said thank you. So I will say it : Thank you very much to your incredible work here.
I previously softmoded my wii with messie guide (I am 4.2e)
Which worked rather fine . But since I had some bugs with few games and apps, I did this guide from step 2. It works fine, but arises 2 questions for me .

    1. You say it is possible to install DARKCORP (old CIOSCORP if I am right). Sounds great to run my backups with the disc channel. Nevertheless I saw it was, on over pages of this forum, non recommended to install CIOSCORP because it modifies in depth a lot of IOS and then your Wii had to be handled carefully. Furthermore I saw that it rewrites some IOS you make us install in this guide. Does that mean that installing DARKCORP remove the patches we just installed? Eventually, are you sure installing DARKCORP is recommended and without any risks if further IOS modifications are carried out on our Wii?

    2. Since I do not want to make any assumption on the fact it was erased or not, I also reinstalled Priiloader, even if I already had it before following this guide from step 2. This seemed to work fine, but when I went to step 3, where you ask to format the card again, then one priiloader hack does not work anymore (The one to press A to skip automatically Warning Start screen when we boot).
Is that normal? Do you think that bloc disk update and online update hack still work? Or do we have to keep the priiloader folder on the SD card in order that all the hacks work correctly?

I hope these questions were not too stupid...
Anyway, even if I got stupid answers, I thank you in advance.

    1. after changing the region, all the menus will display in, say Japanese, just like a Japanese wii will? so there is no difference between the japanese wii you buy at the store and the one you create here by changing the region? any other consequences?
    2. can we do this part even after finishing the mod including the downgrade to 4.1 firmware? i ask this since i can not decide if i really want to change the region yet.
    3. once we change the region, can we still revert it back?
could anyone help me on the above please? i am stuck waiting for some info.

    #2 yes.
    #3 yes.
you can access any region changer mod at any time, you can downgrade and region change in one step.
just make sure you installed the systemmenu IOS before downgrading anything

    <--suggestions helped? press Thanks
