Backup HBC is intended for backup use only. It's in there as a fail-safe in case something goes wrong. Unless something goes wrong, don't touch it; use the regular HBC. It updated "REAL" hbc again (likely) For you; since this HBC has a different title ID, it did not change it @ all. Net, leave it be.

No, No you cannot. If there was a way to do this we certainly would have included it.

I have a wii that I want to softmod, and I believe it's already softmodded since it's already has HBC in it. It's a second hand Wii and I've never used HBC before. So I'm not sure what's the status of my Wii. All I know it has "Wii backup launcher" and "HBC" in it, and on the data management/wii channels has two icons one is "HBC" and the other is just white icon with a "?" sign on it. So I wonder wether this is the step that I need to take? One more thing, I don't have any nand backup.

    Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed

If it is I've got some question regarding this step.
    1. Is the link above include Wad Manager and WiiMod. Because I don't think I have one of those installed.
    2. If not should I install them first before going with the step above.
    3. I think the HBC on my Wii is version 1.0.1 IOS 36 v12.22. If I run the step above, is it going to be updated automatically?
    4. Do I need internet connection during the softmod process?

    Thanks.

1.)Yes, it comes with all files and programs needed to mod your wii.

2.)You should start from that step either way....Your soft mod is old.

    3.)Yes, this will update everything.

4.)No! This Guide gives you everything you need, So you don't need a internet connection.

Please Read the Guide a few times, then proceed.

You probably didn't complete the guide correctly. Sounds like you forgot to do Chapter 3.

Extract the app pack directly to the root of your sd card. Afterwards, your sd card should have an apps folder on the root. Inside that folder are other folders for your apps, such as usbloader_gx, wiiflow, etc... Inside each one of those folders is a boot.dol.
