Updated to 4.3u by accident and lost neogamma

My son updated our Wii to 4.3u and we lost our mod.... How can I get Neogamma back? I have a MacBook Pro and can't seem to download the files on the Softmod any Wii page. I would appreciate any help in pointing me in the right direction.. We are loosing the ability to play 95 plus games loaded on an external drive!! I should clarify that I didn't perform the mod we had it done, but I'm willing to give it a try.. Also new to the forum so I apologize if this isn't posted in the correct location...

Hello, I am new to this forum but hopefully I can help you out a bit as I had this same problem as well. First off, make sure the games that you put onto your HDD are in ISO form! Also, you cannot just drag and drop the .ISO files onto your HDD and expect it to work.

You must first download WBFS manager, then you will be able to do that. There are tons of guides out there. Just google WBFS 3.0 manager guide.

If none of this applies and you simply do not know where to look, once you load GX loader, towards the bottom of the screen there is an option to "Load" games. Cheers!

Hello all, I am new to this forum but it looks like a very active one indeed.

I've gotten everything up and running fine after many hours of wanting to rip my hair out.

My only issue is that now every time I plug my USB device into my computer to add new games, it tells me the drive needs to be formatted before it can be used. Do I really have to reformat every time I'd like to add a new game?

Also, sometimes when I try to add a certain game to my HDD, it will corrupt the whole thing, and I get a message in WBFS manager saying to run CHKDISK.

    Any insight?

Sounds like your HDD is formatted for WBFS, your computer can't read WBFS formated drive and it will ask if you want to format because it can't read it. Just say no when it asks and then use WBFS manage or Wii Backup Manager (In my experience Wii Backup Manager works better).

I have no insight on the drive getting corrupted. Perhaps you should try and follow the FAT32 guide as that seems to be the preferred way to use the HDD around here compared to WBFS.

I was just drag & dropping WBFS files onto my HHD then connecting it to the WII

So i need to use the WBFS manager to put files onto the HDD then my WII will see them?

Is there anyway to still play backup discs with it softmodded? I still have the wasabi dx installed

It's there in-case you get in to trouble , you can use it to help fix the wii.
For instance you can use the HBC Back up channel to re-install the HBC if you delete it.

Ok, but I am trying to remove my softmod completely before sending the console to Nintendo. I told them I bought it used and that it reads all my games except dual layer ones and they said they would fix it for free even though its out of warranty. If they gripe to me that the console had been modded I will tell them I was not aware and that it was likely the previous owner. I don't want to send it to them though with a bacup HBC channel. I formatted the system just because I didn't want all the USB loader GX in the play history on the Wii message board.

Yes use Wbfs manager to install the games to the drive.
Yes, use neogamma to run back up disc.

I appreciate your well thought out reply, however, I was under the impression that FAT32 can only hold 4g of space? It's a 500g HDD. I'm not a stranger to technology, but a little unfamiliar with Hard drives.

No worries, I did the same thing too, lol. Here is a very good guide http://www.wiihacks.com/customizatio...ger-3-0-a.html

As far as back up discs go, (if you're talking about burnt games, on an actual DVD) then I think only the older models can do that. Which would be the white wiis

    That is right.
Fat32 can only hold 4gb of info. on each file etc... , but wiibackup manager will split them into two files.

Yeah, no one is replying on the remove any softmod thread and this is the only thread I know that has info on the backup HBC...it's from this guide and I just wanted to know if its safe to delete it like a regular channel.
