    Hello

I used this guide after a few days to softmod my 3.4 version Wii. It used to have a message at disk channel to update and I accidentally updated despite the fact I blocked it from priloader hacks(disk and menu update). I didn't know how to stop it and I preferred not to hardreset. After that I found my wii to 4.2 version everything was working (backups, apps) except the priiloader which I've reinstalled (works now) but I cannot load bootmii (the files are in SD checked that).

It seems the only solution is to reinstall bootmii but which method should I use? for 3.4 or 4.2? I wonder because It seemed like an incomplete update since it took only a few seconds. It has features of 4.2 (like SD channels now, before accidental update didn't or after softmod) it is working (no problems at all)but I don't know for sure.

Please tell me what should I do?

Essentially the same thing except most flash/thumb drives are solid state and a lot of externals are disk drives. But they're still data drives so they'll function the same I believe.

Are you sure you're using the 2nd USB port? My Wii only recognizes my external on a certain port, or at least FTPII does, not sure about the other apps. Try the other port if you haven't already.

I think people recommend downgrading to SM 4.1, so you can do that (look at this guide for instructions). Then just download HackMii v1 and re-install Bootmii which can be found at bootmii(dot)org.

However, since you ran a system update from Nintendo, I'd probably just go through the whole softmod from Step 1 again (Start from "Soft Mod With Homebrew Channel Installed" in Step 1) just to make sure everything was the way I wanted it and nothing was changed by the update. It can't hurt, and if everything was left as-is by Nintendo, the worst you'd be doing is overwriting your old mods, so it should be exactly as you want it with bootmii and everything.

Please post a System Check.Link->How To Post A System Check.
I want to make sure everything is still installed.
Also to re-install Bootmii download and extract this Hackmii Installer and put it in your apps folder on the Sd Card.
Then run the hackmii installer from the Homebrew channel...Prepare the sd card then install bootmii.
Make sure you have enough room on your sd card , at-least 540Mb's.

    Thank you bootmii works now.

Here is the syscheck. I hope I did not destroy my Wii

Oh forgot to ask... Why I should have 540mb space in SD? I've already have a backup with 3.4 menu with homebrew and bootmii as boot2 installed. Nothing more... No cIOs or anything from the rest of the guide.

    Your Welcome.
Everything looks good in your system check.
You would need that room in-case you were going to make another back up of your nand.
No matter if you had Cios's installed or not it would be that big (540Mb's).

Yes I know room is the same. I thought that for some reason I should another one now. Thanks for instant responce. Thanks a lot.

I softmodded 4 wiis 1 of me one of my family and two from my work to save my disks from scratches. Other guides in the net are good from good forums but they took too much time and days to understand. Your guide is just the best if I only knew from the begginning.... If you want to make it better maybe you should add a description of what we did. The basics parts like, you installed ios 236 to allow these install, ios 58 to be able to read from usb (I do not remember them exactly) and another spoiler describing what each .wad does. The users will be able to detect problems much easier if they know basic parts of the structure and will be motivated to search deeper before they post.

I'm happy with you site as is, people who love it maybe think that there is always room for improvement thats why I've made that suggestion.

    Thanks again.

    @Stsaerox

Yes, I would definitely make another back up of your nand.
This way you can have A nand back up with everything you have installed so far.

We always like to hear suggestion's from our members, on ways to make it simpler for others to understand.
    Thank You.

The Mii Channel is it's own channel and has nothing to do with HBC.
You are going to have to start from step one in the Guide.
Use Bannerbomb or another exploit to install HBC.
