thanks so much for the speedy reply :-)

I DO get that. Putting the apps on the SD or USB or ExtHD. But I was wondering if its possible to get it on the Wii Internal Memory itself.

I got my Wii already softmoded and had an older version of Neogamma (R9 Beta26) which was running from the Wii Internal Memory and not on an SD card. COD:BO wasn't running on that so I updated everything using this guide.

What you're asking for is a full channel app. These are not generally created anymore. They are, in my estimation, more trouble than they're worth.

IMHO, anyone who softmods a wii should dedicate a hard drive. If you can't do that, at LEAST dedicate a $5 512 meg sd card & be done with it.

What happens when your Wii remote no longer works with the wii system after the mod? (nevermind, lost sync with wii, just had to resync...sorry)

Ah, that's what I thought. Thanks for clearing that up! I had my assumptions about it but needed to hear it from someone who knows.

    Hello.

I bought a used wii with GC2-D2C (tested in Wii Drive Chip Database - Serial Number Estimation with 100% change) chipset and 3.4 software version.

What is the best to do to be able to use sdhc cards like my 2012 bought Wii and (or how to update to 4.1 or better version without loosing my nand keys). I've softmodded so far 3 wiis that were bought after 2009 summer with 4.3 version preinstalled and I know that this is different and opportunity to make it correct to take advantage of Dvd playback and bootmii and bannerbomb . What I'm missing here how do we update to a specific version?

    chapter 2 part 1 - Wad Installs

HI there - i've been following your guide step by step and have come stuck. Im up to chapter 2 part one. When i tried to install the wad files, 2 installed and i had 28 errors. I started the steps over again but now when ever i try to load the files there is nothing there (as if the folder is empty?) I've re-formatted and re-downloaded all the files and followed the guide exactly - what am i missing?

    Thanks

    Rich

    Hello, all!

I just softmodded my Wii 4.3U according to the guide. Everything went fine. Thanks a lot! But, I have a lot of questions to ask:

    • While installing BootMii, it did not install as boot2 but as an IOS. I don't understand why this happened. This is because my Wii is one of the very oldest ones (I bought it in October 2009). I've seen many posts on the forum saying that installing BootMii as boot2 is a very good brick prevention measure. Maybe this is due to my latest system menu. So,

      a) Is there any way I can install BootMii as boot2 without downgrading my system menu version?

      b) Are there any other great brick prevention software I can download/install? (I already have Priiloader v0.7 installed. I have a non-TR Wiimote).

    • I followed the guide and did every step accordingly except downgrading to 4.1. The guide says that it is recommended. But I didn't do it since it was optional. So, am I losing many important features without downgrading? It says 4.1 has better brick prevention facilities, but can I somehow get the same for 4.3?

    • Channels installed after the mod like Neogamma and USB Loader GX cannot run without the SD card put in. How can I make it run without the SD card in? Is that possible?

    • I enabled the Region-free option in Priiloader. I can play my original American games through the disc channel, but I can play the Australian games only through Neogamma. Playing the Australian game through the disc channel hangs my Wii, and I had to hard boot it. Is there any way to circumvent this?

Those are a lot of questions, so thanks in advance for answering all of them.

EDIT: I read the previous replies, and I found out that I can't run Neogamma and USB Loader GX without the SD card. So ignore that question!

Just curious why this was done? "-Removed version patched 4.1 SM and replaced with virgin 4.1 SM's" Is anything lost or gained by using the original 4.1SM versus the patched one?

Exclamation Wii Stuck on Initialize USB device

    Hi bros,
I've read a lot of information about this title, but, at this moment, I have a strong headache.

I previously had softmodded my 4.1U Wii (I don't remember with what method, but it was working, I used to use USBLoader or CFG, to run almost 40 games), suddenly, stopped working and until now, I do not know why. After read several forums, I found this guide to upgrade my softmod version.

I followed every single step of this guide, every single step ... to the letter

I was thinking I would recover my Wii ... !!!! ... mistake... still has problems. It seems to work fine, but when I connect the USB device, the Wii get stuck until press and hold the power button to switch off.

I tested different USB devices, different USB cables, different games (ISO & WBFS), differents files systems (WBFS & FAT)... and nothing...

I'm thinking that my little child did something, but I cannot know what is.

could someone of you, please, help me to know if I have a new paperweight or if it possible to fix it?

-Extract the files directly to your SD card.
-Using the same method as described above, run MD5 summer to verify the 4.1 md5 file. DO NOT PROCEED if it does not verify!
-Insert your SD card into your Wii and launch the Homebrew Channel.
    -Launch WiiMod
-Scroll down to Wad Manager and press A, WiiMod loads
-Select System Menu-4.1x-xxx and press A.(The x corresponds to your specific system menu region)
-Press 1 to batch install all 3 wads. Press A to confirm. All 3 wads MUST install without error!

!!!IMPORTANT!!! These wads must install correctly! Do not exit if you get errors. In the highly unlikely event you do get errors, post here in this thread. DO NOT shut off your Wii. Wait patiently for an answer!!!
    RVL-WiiSystemmenu-v449.wad - Title (-1036)

    1 did not complete.

This is the error I get when trying to install it using MMM instead of WiiMod because WiiMod just stays black screen...

    Please HELP!!!
