I thought letterbomb allowed installation of the HBC. I haven't read anything about 4.1 since I have 4.3. I thought letterbomb was basically bannerbomb for 4.3.
If 4.1 is better why make it optional. Why not advise everyone to do it.
What disadvantages to modding did 4.3 take away If you can still do it with a simple method
sorry not trying to be difficult just trying to truly understand the differences.

Letterbomb is for 4.3 and that's because bannerbomb wouldn't work with 4.3, so you couldn't install anything if it couldn't run the program.
Because you have a right to decide if you want to downgrade or stay at 4.3.
It wasn't simple when you needed a game or when there was no letterbomb.
No, problem that's what were here for.

I understand that. So does letterbomb do everything bannerbomb can do just that it's for 4.3? That's what I don't understand when people say to downgrade. If letterbomb can do it and regardless of menu version you can't change the brickability of it.

Yes , letterbomb does the same job.
4.3 does not offer anything , it just took away the option of loading bannerbomb, it also took away the option of Region Free Games,And HBC.
This is up to you, Check this link before doing anything.Link->Thinking About Hacking Your Wii
If you brick your wii when doing this Guide, then you did not follow the Guide fully and didn't read it thoroughly.
This Guide is easy as pie. The link above will provide you with more then enough info on the wii and what will be installed etc.

Man I love being married to a person that doens't know squat about technology.....my wife decided she wanted to load up Skyward Sword via the disk and did the update from nintendo so that she can get it ready for me and now it won't load up the letter bomb installer under my messages. I even tried to format my system memory and re downloaded letter bomb and, well, nothing still.
I went out and bought a PNY 2gb SD card since you guys told me to do it and now I am stuck with no soft modded Wii (and no I don't blame you guys and I appreciate you trying to help me out.) So now what should I do about it???
Ok, so I went ahead and reformatted my Wii and skipped updating it with my Skyward Sword disk and now it is reading letterbomb in my messages....
Once I am able to finish up all of the installers I will let you guys know how it turns out!
Well....looks like a missed a couple of steps like an idiot...I missed the parts where it says to reformat your SD card AND to run the IOS installer....plus when I was using Priiloader I didn't save any settings under the Hack menu so it didn't apply all of the "hide" update options.
So far everything is running fine. I just need to put my games back onto my flash drive and hope it continues running smoothly....THANKS GUYS and GALS!!!

Hi great site. I am trying to modding my Wii and having issue getting WiiMod 3.2 to load. I use another tutorial to install the The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii as Boot2. I am in Chapter 1 - Part 1 and trying to update my softmod and when I load WiiMod, it will just go to a black screen. Anyone know why WiiMod is not loading? Thanks

After following chapters 1-3 (all went well) to update my previously softmodded wii, my dumped .iso's no longer work. Any ideas why? I even tried setting up a new hard drive (fat32 only now) and loading the .iso's with Wii Backup Manager onto the drive as wbfs files. Many do not work. Why is this? Do they need to be scrubbed first or something?
I used a cheap SD card and the Wii gave me similar fits. I recommend using one like the 1-2 Gig SanDisk that is mentioned in the guide. If you are already, try formatting and starting over again.

If you already have HBC installed and Bootmii installed as Boot2 and have a backup of your nand/keys, Why wouldn't you start from Chapter 2?

This will over write everything and it's not needed to start from part one if you have HBC using Ios58 to run.
If you feel like you need to start from chapter 1 part 1 , then replace Wiimod with MMM and continue.
You should not be having any problems loading WiiMod, Please make sure you are following the guide to a "T".

Hi Jax, so I start with Chapter 2 like you suggest. I am in Part 1 of Chapter 2 and when I load Wii Mod 3.2, the same thing happens. The screen will go black and it would just stay like that. I checksum the file and there is no corruption. Any idea what might causing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
