Do Not Do anything with your system menu.
We have to fix the link to the trucha bug pack, Please be patient.
Alright go here.linkMMM
Go to that link and go to the spoiler that says "Install & Patch Ios36", Follow what it says.
Used MMM to patch ios36 by the posts on the last page of that thread.
Very nice tool.
Better than the wiimod cuz running on my console.
Firstly ive installed the ios36 ive downloaded at another guide and installed it by wad manager 1.5.
Then ive reloaded the MMM with ios36 and used quick ios36 patch with the files in archive in the / of the SD.
Then ive installed all of the WADs i had by the MMM.
Now all works fine and the console is fully soft-moded.
The system menu is 4.1 version.
I havent seen ur post and did all by myself but thank you for ur help, I send positive feedback.

Just resurrected my wii after two years of not using it. My wii is using system menu 4.2E and have softmodded this previously which I think I had use the bannerbomb guide but cant remember which version as I think it was about 2 years ago.
Anyway just been reading your guide in particular the section
I was wondering so that I can be clear, if I already have the homebrew channel and bootmii installed (from previous softmod guide install from a previous guide), would I still need to perform Chapter 1-Installing The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii or can I skip this chapter and go on to chapter 2 and 3.I modded my wii with some other guide OR...I don't remember what guide I used
If you dont know which guide you followed or if you followed any other guide other than this guide, you should do Chapter 1, 2, 3, step by step.
Below is a copy of my system check info

I think itll be better for u to update the homebrew if u had the old version.
All due respect dbanet, this user should follow the "Softmods with Homebrew Channel Installed" spoiler.
@dba I think you mixed and matched a few guides here. Did you use the "bannerbomb 3.0-4.1" spoiler when you started or did you just find a different way to install the HBC?
I do not quite remember the hbc install procedure, but AFAIK I have used the hackmii installer.
So I have installed the hbc, bootmii as second boot and did a NAND backup with the bootmii.
I haven't chosen the bannerbomb application in wii -> data man -> channels -> sd. I have committed the loading of boot.elf file and installed all of the above stuff.
Anyway after using the MMM utility all is working fine now and I give thanks to its developer.
Actually I haven't understand all of the wii's os' structure. So I did a half of these things not understanding what am I really doing.
Can you please also advise if there is a specific firmware version of wii which is required to be able to play DVD media .. i.e. if I update this wii ( refer to the picture in my post #14774 for drive chipset) to version 4.3e even then it will play DVD media / movies / copied wii games on DVD
Im not jax, but I think I can answer your question. Yes your Wii should be able to play all types of burned DVD's that you listed above, even using 4.3. There are no advantages to 4.3 however. In fact, 4.3 removed the ability to play region free discs, so you would be better off following this guide's instructions and installing System Menu 4.1.
