I really dont want to have to go buy a copy of SSBB, but I just can't seem to get anything to work.
You could always just buy a standard SD card or check the list on page 1 and see what other games you can use (SSBB isn't the only game you can use for the hacking)

Oh I know there's other games but I'd at least play SSBB :P. The thing is even with a standard SD card I'd still be forced to use wilbrand 1.2 which didn't work even though I got the bomb to appear. Wilbrand 1.8 and 2.0 aren't even creating the exploit files on my computer.

Why would you still be forced to use WiiBrand?

Google Multi-Mod Manager 13.4 download and replace WiiMods boot.dol with that one.

Ok, so I went ahead and did a successful smash stack mod and everything went fine until I tried loading up games. I'm using a fat32 usb flash drive (lexar Jumpdrive 16B) all the usb loaders hang when I tried to use it whether I had game files on it or not. I couldn't even rip to it. specifically USB Loader GX hangs at initializing USB for awhile then changes to mounting USB to port 1 even though I have it in the correct port (I didnt the first few tries).

EDIT: Tried a different flash drive and it worked, guess the lexar wasn't compatible, I'll end up getting an external usb HDD eventuality I think.

Failed to load Wiimod with modchiped Wii

This guide now uses WiiMod to install the required files to your Wii.
!!!WARNING!!! - WiiMod is a very advanced application. Follow the instructions EXACTLY as written. Messing with options in WiiMod without know exactly what you are doing COULD BRICK YOUR WII. You have been warned!!!!

-Power on your Wii and insert your sd card. Or insert your SD card and power on your Wii. Either way, as long as your SD card is inserted and your Wii is on, that is what is important.

-Launch the Homebrew Channel, then launch Wiimod.
-Use the d-Pad on your Wii remote to scroll down to Wad Manager.
    -Press A to select.
-The contents of the wad folder on your sd card will appear.
-Press 1 to batch install all wads. You will be prompted "Do you want to proceed?" Press A to proceed.
-After completion, you may press any button to continue.
I am using hardmod wii with System menu 3.1J.
I downloaded and installed Hackmii-FIX.zip due to the Hackmii black Screen.
In addition, I also performed a nand backup.
However, during the installation, I failed to install two WADs
    cIOS30-v6174-TED
    cIOS36-v3094-TEND
At the end, somehow the Homebrew channel is shown the Wii.

If I launched Wiimod from the Homebrew Channel, the Wii would be in Black screen.

It will be appreciated so much if anyone can find me out with this problem.

As this Wii is modchiped, the SysCheck from MMM encountered an exception.

    Hey guys -
letterbomb still appears to be down. Does this happen regularly or has it been down for some months now?
I modded my wii in February but just got a new one and am trying to do it again, but can not access letterbomb.

    Edit -

Nevermind ~ Wiibrand worked a treat

    Softmodding Wii repaired by Nintendo

Hi Guys , My wii was on version 4.2e . i have recently got it repaired by Nintendo for its bluetooth module . now it is on version 4.3e.

Please advise if it is safe to do a soft mod on the refurbished Wii?

    Regards

Yes, you can still soft mod it.
As long as you follow the Guide to a "T" ,you should be fine.
