What a GREAT thread Maui! Thanks for all your hard work creating this masterpiece install.

I have a new 4.2U system that I softmodded to a 4.1 last night (using this thread step by step). My problem is with Configurable USB Loader. I click on the channel for it and it displays the Configurable USB Loader logo with version 58 and IOS 249. It just hangs there and I have to reboot my Wii manually.

I've since downloaded v60 and it now still hangs but now it says IOS 249 then it says below that, IOS 250 (FRAG) (at least I think it said FRAG.... it was something like that anyway) and still hangs. I've also tried starting it from the HBC bypassing the channel forwarder.

Can you help me with this please?

    hey guys,

I'm back, wow has it been long and so much as changed (missed the Wii and Bestbuy had a deal i could not pass up). Now i gotta relearn everything all over.

Well i just got my black 4.2 will hacked and i have a few questions.

1.) This is a Wii that was just purchased from bestbuy and so i was not able to install bootmii to boot2 and just want to know if i'm save from a brick. I have backed up my NAND and installed piiloader. So it i did go and delete IOS70 (NO i'm not going to do it) of my Wii right now will i be able to recover?

2.) If i choose to return the Wii (not likely) what is the best way to restore it to factory?

Guessing just use Bootmii and restore the NAND and then then uninstall HBC using hackmii 0.7?

    Or
Just use hackmii and remove HBC?

These are the questions i'm unsure about all others are pretty easy and straight forward,.

    1. If you delete IOS70 with bootmii IOS, then you would have to send it for programming and you would need the nand.bin and keys.bin. Priiloader and bootmii will be of no use.

    2. Not sure why you would want to do that, I guess follow a virginize guide. You shouldn't try a nand restore with bootmii IOS.
    Damn I suck!!!!

I would also have a look at some of the recommended guides for usb loading as well. Not sure if you are unaware of that consoles inabilty to use disk backups, but figured I would throw it out there just in case.

    And welcome back

I am in the process of following the tutorial, i have just run Md5summer by administrator Is that correct?
    It is asking the following-
Files with the extension 'md5' are not associated with md5summer. Should I make the association? y/n

I am not sure if a) i need to run it as administrator?
    b) if i answer y/n to the above question

It does not matter, you don't need to run a administrator and you don't need to associated md5 files with the app.

I don't know, what happens when you load it with the HD unplugged?

Thank you, i have spent weeks on this after being scammed with crappy stuff that didn't work properly, and wouldn't let me add ios's
I formatted my sd card and removed everything that was already on it, so now it will only have the things from your guide (is that right?)
Is their anything else i need to do? I have v4.3E

I just want to make sure i get it right, so my kids can finally enjoy their wii again

It doesn't mention themes because that feature had not yet been announced.
