Mixing my metaphors, sorry.... was thinking the 4.3 letterbomb. Try a different card.

Great! Try a different card. Sandisk preferred. This part is the touchiest about cards.

Newbie here, having issues with Chapter 2 upon installing the 1st helping of Wads, my wii freezes up during wad 3 (Backup HBC-MAUI.wad) even if I try to install them one at a time, no matter what order, and goes no further, any help please. Black wii loading 4.3e instructions, using an 8gb pny card. Better get a 2gb sandisk card and try again, opps.

New 2gb Sandisk purchased and hey presto softmod completed. All working fine, Steve

Cool Stuck at the USB HD formating end...

So I was able to follow the updating from HBC... The only wad fail was IOS61-64-v5661.wad since I seem to have IOS61-64-v5662.wad installed... Decided not to downgrade...

I am stuck at Chapter 3 since I am not sure I setup my USB HD correctly... Trying to do a split HD... 30GB Fat32 Active Primary for all Progz... And the rest of it NTFS Primary but can not change to Active for WBFS & Vidz & General BackUp since the Fat32 is already as Active... My PC is able to see both partitions speratly...

Can some one in the know take a look at the spoilers to see if I have it setup correctly...

Changing from one USB HD to another so I am looking to do a split HD setup this time to use the NTFS side as a large file storage too... I haven't found a detail walk thru for a split setup ... Can I run by you what I've done so far using EASEUS Partition Master v8.0.1...

I followed the Fat 32 Guide to setup 30GB for Fat32... Got two notes in purple in the spoiler...

    Spoiler

On the space left over I setup the NTFS side of it with the following options...

    Spoiler

I know I'll need to configure each loader & other programs in the Fat32 side to pull the WBFS or Music or other files in the NTFS... But not sure what the settings will be.... Will need more info that that too...

    Thanks..

After completing this guide u can continue to play retail games all day long... Just make sure u never manually update directly from Nintendo... Just come back to this guide from time to time to update anything... It's the most complete guide for just about every eventuality I've used/read in a long while... I think I ran into a video guide on youtube that can give u an idea how it will go... Just search for the name of this guide on youtube... Use the vids on youtube only as a visual of what to expect... Not as a guide in itself... The vid walkthru's are all out of date...

I imagine if someone ever takes the time to make a video, it will be linked here. AFAIK, no video has been made. Perhaps you would volunteer? You don't need a video, you need to read, understand, and follow instructions, that is it. Perhaps no video has been made because videos are hard to update, and are a big cause of FAIL in the mod process. Sorry, but it must be said, I like the idea as much as anyone, but old videos don't seem to go away, they don't answer question, ect, you get where I am going I hope. Just read, read, read again if you must, it will turn out fine. Once you mod your wii, it will be modded, you can really never go completly back without risk, but you should not have any issue with official Nintendo features, like retail games, online play, etc, it all works.
