As far as I know you cannot lose boot2 compatibility without messing with hardware.
    Thanks I try it out

Please excuse my correct spelling, grammar, or other very smart things.

Sorry if this question has already been answered. I have a 4.2 Wii which was modded using a guide that I absolutely can't remember and now I can load games from the CFG Loader. I'd like to upgrade some files so if I'm already running HBC, does that mean I can go directly to chapter 2 of the guide in the first post or does it have to be right from the start?

Read the guide from the beginning and click on the spoilers that correspond to your situation. It will tell you where you need to start.

Yes you can, as long as your HDD is fat32. Simply copy the contents of the root of your sd card to the root of the HDD. You may need to readjust some of the config settings to get the paths right for images and stuff like that.

You dont need a gc controller to do everything in this guide. Judging by your join date you can use one of your Wii remotes just fine.

my wii remote won't work in bootmii and when I googled it I read that bootmii menu can only be controlled by gc controller or if installed by boot2 you can use power and reset button.

As the guide says, you can use the buttons on the console itself. You dont have to have a gamecube controller.
