    Freezes when installing IOS236?

    Hi all!
First of all I want to thank the author of this excellent guide.
Everything went on very smoothly until when I'm trying to Change my Region...

So I'm following the optional step that supposedly should change my region
    I am on this step
    Launch ARCmod06_Offline
    Select IOS236 - press A
    Read the WARNING- press 1
You will see this error at the top screen "WARNING: AREA: SysMenu MISMATCH!"
After reading the warning thingy, I pressed (1) to continue... however it freezes!!!
I waited for a while to check if it is actually working.. but it is indeed frozen!
I know this because I clicked "HOME" instead of (1) and it still doesnt respond.

However when I later rebooted my wii (there was no other way), the system shows that my wii is now in IOS236,
and so I thought I might as well go to the next stop
Use the wiimote, go down to-"system menu 4.1 installer"
    Select "System Menu Region"
Change the region to USA (or Europe or Jap or KOREAN)
Go down to "Auto set from System Menu Region" -Press A
    But I couldnt find this!
Sorry but I really dont know what to do. I repeated the steps over and over again but it still freezes at the same exact step.
    The
    WARNING: AREA: SysMenu MISMATCH!
    didnt even appear!!
    What should I do?
    Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanks in advance!!

Thanks Maui! I've done some work on the "update your softmod" and "updates" sections to the guide to make this clearer. Hopefully this info will help others make more informed decisions.

    A question for you guys....

I followed a different guide, yes I know, the horror! But all my loaders and emulators work fine, however I took a look at your mod pack and noticed some large differences
Besides not downgrading from 4.3, My guide left out a large number of the cios wads, namely all the ones from 200 and below and instead recommended never to mess with those files besides 58 I guess which was patched by letterbomb.
What exactly do the lower level ios patches do? I'm trying to determine whether I want them now or not.

I know you guys recommend your guide, I'm just trying to figure out what those patches do.
    Thanks

the IOS's below 200 are not cIOS's. Those are the official nintendo IOS's. You don't need to install them, but they could help you out of a brick some day.

My understanding was that when you patch an ios it becomes a cios

In what way could they help me out of a brick?

You are correct about the IOS becoming a cIOS.

Stomp was basically saying that all IOS/cIOS below 200 are stock IOS from N. Version patches, trucha bug, es identify, etc on these IOS do not change very much about the IOS. They are completely functional, and operate exactly as the original IOS. CIOS above 200 are very different. Rather than just having these "patches" applied, these cIOS have undergone much greater modifications.

If the system menu is patched with the trucha bug and you have a full brick, you can use this (along with a mod chip) to fix your Wii. Details are in a different guide, so no need to go into that here. The best brick protection you can have though is a bit of common sense and making sure you install priiloader. If you can install bootmii as boot2 you have almost a brick-proof Wii. As is life though, nothing is idiot proof...lol
