Sorry but that's what's confusing as I already have the Homebrew Channel installed, but the next step (part 2) is "Install The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii", so does MMM-58-61_Hackmii_1.1.0.zip update both of these compared to MMM-58-61_Hackmii_0.8_BB2.zip" which I used when originally softmodding?

And then in chapter 2 the only thing (I think) that's been updated is CIOS-PACK-V6.zip, so do I really need to install ModPack-PAL-E.zip and IOS Update.zip again. And if Priiloader 0.7 was in CIOS-PACK-V5.zip, do I need to reinstall that again as well?

EDIT: I've just noticed there's actually a different spoiler higher up the page "Update your Softmod ANY Wii softmod" which says "Future Update-In the future, you will only need to update the ciospack, which should make life simpler." so I guess I do only need to update the ciospack. However the CIOS-PACK-v6 contains the d2x7 wads whilst the ones here are d2x8, so should I extract both the CIOS-PACK-v6 wads and the d2x8 wads to a wad folder on my SD, run MMM and install all of them (Select Wad Manager -Press A -Press 1, press A -Install all wads)?

hey guys, question about wii 4.2 softmodded from a store- i followed this guide but not sure if i did it fine so please let me know:
it got homebrew 1.0.8 on ios58, so i just updated to homebrew 1.1.0 (online) made a NAND backup and continued from there (chapter 2 etc...) i think everything works on usb loader. was that OK, or should i start the guide from the begining, maybe use banner bomb or install from hackmii 1.1 those to ios': ios58 and ios61?
    Thanks in advance

If it has HBC installed already, you can do the "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed" spoiler. You can choose to do that or use bannerbomb v2 since it's 4.2.

If you modded using this guide go to CHAPTER 2 not part 2. If modded from any other guide start at the begining

That still contradicts what it says "In the future, you will only need to update the ciospack, which should make life simpler." as there's a lot more than that to do in Chapter 2 and I still don't know whether I should just put both the CIOS-PACK-v6 wads and the d2x8 wads to a wad folder on my SD and install them with MMM.

This guide does not include d2x v8 yet. If you want v8, install the d2x v8 wads using MMM.

Hm, so... My Wii was already softmoded (don't know the method, so sorry :T) and I redid it using this tutorial. Everything went fine and my Wii is working okay but... Just out of curiosity: should it be 4.1U now (it was 4.3U previously)? Or I did something stupid along the way (quite possible....)? And if I did... Does anyone know what? Or if I should try to fix it?
English grammar mistakes are bound to happen - I'm not a native speaker Please, be kind.

If you follow the guide you will be on 4.1. That is expected and desired.

I know it doesn't, that's why I was asking whether I should install them as well, although I've just read a post saying that going from v7 to v8 caused a game to stop working, so maybe they're not ready yet.

Perhaps someone could answer the question about whether the guide is correct to say ""In the future, you will only need to update the ciospack" and confirm the correct way to do this if so.

The guide is, as expected, correct. We generally wait a little while to make sure things are truly compatible before putting them in the general guide. So this guide may not have you on the bleeding edge of custom IOSes, but it will get you what we believe to be the best general purpose configuration.
