Thanks, but still i'm looking for an answer. you can read the thread above and understand why i did it (because of the kids).
Any way my question is if i did make a NAND Backup on softmodded 4.2 and now i'm on softmodded 4.3, if i ever use the NAND Backup i made on 4.2 would it take my wii back to 4.2? would it be better if i made a new NANDBackup for my 4.3?
    thanks in advance

Go to page 1 of the guide and read the last spoiler. If you soft modded using a different guide do the whole thing right from step 1. If you used Maui's guide just do what the guide says. BTW if you set priiloader up to block updates, this should not happen again

Once again many, many thanks to Maui and everyone else who have made this THE BEST mod guide available

thank you pzelak, no offense but this question goes to the stuff.
@ cjizzle and his friends :
sorry for double post but this is really important to me:

    1) i purchased my wii softmodded on 4.2 and after i got it i made a NAND Backup (i couldn't do it first thing cause it was already softmodded), after i i made the NAND Backup i resoftmodded it using this guide. is that o.k?

    2) after updating to 4.3 and running hackmii, should i make a new NAND Backup again? (i'm asking because i thought if i ever gonna need the last one, it might get me back to 4.2)

again sorry for tripple post, looking forward for your answer, thanks

    Hi

I modded just before Christmas, so want to update in the hope of getting certain games to work that didn't before, such as Tintin.

I see I need to do Chapter 1 "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed" to install the two wads from MMM-58-61_Hackmii_1.1.0.zip. However, I don't get whether I'm then supposed to do Chapter 1, parts 2 and 3, then Chapter 2, then Chapter 3.

I see the CIOS-PACK-V6.zip is newer than the v5 one I used when softmodding, so obviously that needs updating but I don't know if ModPack-PAL-E.zip has been updated. I don't think IOS Update.zip has (and it says not needed for 4.3 Wiis anyway) but I wonder if I can just extract the CIOS-PACK-V6 to my SD card and then follow Chapter 2, Part 1- Wad Installs to install the updated files.

Do I need to do Chapter 2, Part 3- Install Priiloader again?

I have all my apps (USB Loader GX mainly) running from my USB HDD, so I guess I can skip Chapter 3. Is there anything in the update procedure that will cause my apps to stop loading from my USB HDD and look to the SD card for them instead?

After updating, should I follow the d2x cIOS Installation guide here http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...ion-guide.html Can I just follow the "Installation - 2nd Method as WAD files" instructions there, extract the wads to a blank SD card and batch install them with MMM?

just follow the soft mod any wii guide from where is says homebrew already installed. youll want to update the apps on your usb also for stability. you might need to change the config file on your usb drive so it knows to look for it. im pretty sure after remodding and updating your apps it will look to the sd card again by default. changing the config file for your loader is easy just open the config file in note pad and change thew line that looks at your sd to usb. if you follow the soft mod any wii guide it will update your cios for you.........Mods if im wrong correct me plz, im a newb but this all has worked for me. hope i helped in some way......

Thanks for trying to help, but that's what's a bit confusing, there isn't a separate "homebrew already installed" guide, only the "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed" spoiler, so it's not clear which bits of the guide I should be following if I've already done it once and just want to update.

The only app I really use is USB Loader GX and that's already up-to-date at 2.3, so I probably don't need to update the apps and re-edit the config files, but I'll double-check in case there's some other apps on there that I should update.

That is what souralien is talking about. Follow the guide from that spoiler.

I've successfully softmodded using this guide before and today I decided to update it. I started at chapter two like the guide says, and I am up to the point where I install the Wads. When I turn on my Wii, it takes me to CBoot2 Dol Loader V6 and the Multi-Mod Manager. I installed the WAD files and the System Menu, but whenever I press the home button to exit, it takes me back to Multi-Mod Manager. Please someone tell me, what do I do?

EDIT: Nevermind, solved by BluPhant in chat. Thanks a lot!

    [4:46pm] <BluPhant> yes you.
    [4:46pm] <PKPikmin> Me?
    [4:46pm] <BluPhant> yes you.
[4:46pm] <PKPikmin> ...Oh. Thank you so much XD
    [4:46pm] <emuhack> lmao
    [4:46pm] <BluPhant> u installed bootmii as boot2 I presume
    [4:46pm] <PKPikmin> Yes
    [4:46pm] <BluPhant> that means
[4:46pm] <BluPhant> when the wii starts
[4:46pm] <BluPhant> if it finds a particular folder (bootmii) on the sd
[4:46pm] <BluPhant> the standard process will be short circuited
[4:47pm] <BluPhant> and it will launch a dol.
[4:47pm] <BluPhant> in this case MMM.
    [4:47pm] <PKPikmin> Oh, right!
[4:47pm] <BluPhant> u can rename the bootmii folder.
