Personally I used a disc the last time I had a wii with that old of a SM and updated to 4.1 then followed the guide. This guide will give you all of the newer ios that you would get by going to SM 4.3, just not actually run on the 4.3 ios.

btw, the E is for the region.
Just to inform you, i risked and update SM to 4.3E online , then with letter bomb i unlocked it - softmoded, everything was ok ... Runing 4.3E it seems at all has some benefitions, like support USB 2.0, that's good reason to update it...

I use 4.2 and my USB 3.0 HDD works fine, so I think that kinda contradicts what you said

hi peps i need a bit of help as i want to use the wiiflow but i have not made a nand backup i have put the bootmii file back on sd card then load up the HBC then press HOME then launch bootmii and all it does is go to the black screen what sould i do know

Part 3- Make A NAND Backup (NOT Optional, do this,)

Load HBC, press -HOME-, launch Bootmii
    Make a nand backup
Press Power, Power, Power, Reset, Reset (yes we are talking about the buttons on your Wii console itself, or you can use a GameCube controller)
Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select
Once the backup is complete, exit bootmii to HBC
Backup your Bootmii files to your PC
    sd:\bootmii
    sd:\nand.bin
    sd:\key.bin
    *DO NOT LOSE THESE FILES*
If you want to load bootmii again at a later date, copy the bootmii folder back to sd:\

Hi guys, after installing the 30 WADs, is it necessary to install the system menu 4.1?

I'm on 4.3u at the moment on my son's wii.

Thanks.. Unfortunately I just finished installing 4.1 ..

Any disadvantage to 4.1? And would I have to go through the entire process of softmodding again if I wanted to upgrade my SM?

Feature-wise, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 are pretty much the same.

It's just that 4.2 and 4.3 introduced more anti-softmod stuff so they got progressively harder to hack.

Thankfully, all of them can still be hacked so I guess it's all good!

Chapter 1 - part 2: My Wii already has HBC and the Bootmii(as IOS) installed. Should I proceed with this part and install the Bootmii again?

My Wii has some Korean IOS installed because of the DARKCORP. Can I delete those IOS (specifically IOS40, IOS41, IOS43, IOS45, IOS46, IOS48, IOS52)?

Chapter 2 - part 3: What should I do if I already have Priiloader installed? Is there some problem to follow the guide with the Priiloader installed from the beginning(since the Prilloader installation is one of the last steps)?
Can someone please help me with this?

So I've completed the entire guide and loaded my iso onto a USB drive, but still have no idea how to play from USB. I've gone into USB Loader GX and CFG Loader and started them, but after a few seconds, it goes back to the wii menu.

Anyone able to share their insight?
