If you have HBC then you don't need the game. The only reason you need the game (exploit) is to load HBC on the Wii. So if you have it already you can skip that step. Be sure to make a NAND backup and save it to your PC though (you will need to install bootmii if you didn't already).
    Damn I suck!!!!

thanks so much for the quick reply!

does that mean i don't need to install hackmii or bootmii? in HBC 1.0.7, i have Gecko that does not work and WodeFlow in the menu. do i need bootmii there? if so, should i follow another steps to install bootmii?

If you have HBC, no you don't need to install it again. To install bootmii just run the hackmii installer from HBC like any other application (put the boot.elf in a folder called "Hackmii Installer" or anything you want...then launch it from HBC). Install bootmii as boot2 if possible, make the Nand backup (this is all outlined in the guide, the only difference is you don't have to load the hackmii installer with the games, you can load it from your current HBC and follow the guide instructions from there.
    Damn I suck!!!!

    so far so good!
now, i am at the end of Chapter 1 to back up NAND. however, i don't seem to back it up. when i am in bootmii menu where there are "Insert a SD card" along with "Install . . ." and "Uninstall . . .", i press wii power and reset button as described, but nothing seems to happen. i verified it by checking out the contents of SD card. i don't see nand.bin or key.bin in the SD card root dir. am i missing something, or is there other ways to back it up?

No the wii remote is useless im affraid..... Power = Naviagte Reset = Enter on front of wii.

You installed bootmii as an ios yes?

Have you got a bootmii folder on your sd card?

If so it actually sounds like you arent in the right screen anyway.

Go to HB, when in HB press 'home' button on wii remote.

A screen should appear like this
