can i update Wii system ver 3.4E (harmoded - with some installed chip or whatever) to ver 4.3E through Wii update, will this harmode stay in same state, and to be able play burned games ? This is older Wii with 3.4E, or maybe after update to ver. 4.3E i need some softmod like letter bomb for 4.3E ?

Updating to 4.3 will prevent your hardmod from playing out of region games. It will still be able to play burned games, just not out of region ones. If you follow this guide then your wii will end up on 4.1 sm with ALL of the function of being on 4.3 and you will have a great softmod in place.

I'm not sure what means games "out of region ones", is that means, not playing US Games on this european console, or ? For me aren't important games with NTSC...

Then, with 4.1 sm "out of region" games could be played with this hardmod, and softmod for playing games from usb hdd ?

I asked about updating to 4.3, cause when i tried Wii shop channel to open, it pop up message "you have to update your os, with updates for wii connect 24 - wii shop channel..."

i'm not sure how direct update on Wii functionate, will Wii update from sm 3.4E directly to 4.3E, or go step by step, and first update it to 4.1E ?

Yes, it will go directly to 4.3 if you do it o line. You are not asking any questions about the guide you are posting in. If you do not care about playing ntsc games on a pal Wii the just update your Wii and be done with it. If you would like to learn a little about softmodding then click the "must read for noobs" link in my signature. Do not ask any more questions in THIS thread unless you are trying to follow the guide and need help.

    Question Already Soft Modded Wii

My Wii is already softmodded, but I am having trouble with loading some usb loaders and games. Can I use this guide to do a second soft mod?

    Thanks.

Yes. Start with the spoiler titled "Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed."

Hi Guidebot or Mauifrog.. whatever it is now lol. I used your guide to hack my wii long ago probably way back at v3 or so. Just seen the new updates and everything is absolutely terrific and spot on. Thanks very much for all the hard work you have put into this.

One suggestion I'd like to add. If you haven't already please include Wiiflow r417a4 which is in the nightly drop box on the wiiflowiki as the standard wiiflow app installation, for a much more stable and game compatible wiiflow experience. If the objective is to let the end user decide which loader they like best, with certainty I can claim that this version should be what you are providing until the wiiflow-mod svn is synced with the original wiiflow svn and new more stable, feature rich wiiflow revisions are commited in the near future. Reason being is r417 had several bugs which were ironed out ;-) again I don't know if this is the version you are providing as I haven't tried out app pack v3 as of yet but this is the version of wiiflow I would recommend to any new wiiflow end user, plus I wanted to at least put my 2 cents in there lol.

    Thanks again guys.

Then where to post else here about softmoding and some questions related to softmoding, i don't know other places, than to open new thread ???

I don't care about ntsc, it's not important for me, cause i'm in Europe, and my tv is PAL system. I did softmoding on my other console, which came with 4.3E, this time i try to help my good friend with 3.4E, who has harmoded wii with 3.4E, that's reason why i asked here, preventive, before starting softmoding on sm 4.3E, softmoding isn't problem for me, i read whole guide before asking, and i made softmod with letter bomb for 4.3E - everything is ok on my Wii console - newer generation D3 or D4 chipset...

For me is the most important thing, that my friend woudl still can play burned games, and games from usb hdd after softmoding with letter bomb on sm 4.3, this hardmoded console.

Hi, can anyone share me the link of old version opera internet browser ?

I recently SM my wii using this thread, but when trying to install internet channel browser i got error 2011. it seems that my problem with installing new opera due to un-clean remove of old internet browser through system menu options instead of wad manager.
