    Great guide!
But there is something i donīt understand. I have a 4.2E with softmod, i want to update my softmod (i dont even have any d2x), i have HBC (obviously) and Bootmii as boot2, the guide tells me to install ios 58 and 61, and then to run hackmii. Why run hackmii if i already have hbc and bootmii? Canīt i just install ios 58 and 61 and then use MMM to install the Modpack, Ciospack and Ios update? The same about Priiloader that is already installed?

    First of all Hi =)

This guide is awesome for hacking a virgin wii - I've used it twice for that already, however my problem is slightly different.

I used this guide to re-hack my wii as not all my backups were working. Now I wish I hadn't as the most commonly played backups no longer work (F1 - R9FP36, Lego Harry Potter - R25PWR, Lego Indiana Jones 2 - RL4E64, Mario Party 8 - RM8P01, New Super Mario Bro - SMNP01). I don't know what to do or what I'm missing. For example, Lego Harry Potter seems to crash my wii as soon as I select the game in configurable usb loader ("Exception (DSI) occured!"), the other games all behave differently (New Super Mario Bro - SMNP01, doesn't respond to my wii controller so can't press 2 to start the game). Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Flawless Guide

Thanks to this site, I was able to softmod my Wii with no issues. The guide is flawless and easy to understand. I tried a couple of guides before this and failed to play my backups. Thank you very much to those who run this website, I'm looking forward to give a donation in the near future to express my gratitude.

Please take note that I was not able to Press 1 because I had a MotionPlus remote, it is important to use the regular remote or else MotionPlus will be out of sync and turn off.

I'm now able to softmod my Wii.

    Thanks for the guide

    My discovery for MacOS users

First off: thanks Mauifrog for an awesome package. AFTER I troubleshot the following ,everything worked flawlessly.

Here's a note on my experience for MacOS users. I was doing all my SD card modifications through my sdcard slot on my macpro, system 10.6.8 using teh built in .zip utility.

I had many, many issues in MMM getting the WADs to load. in step 3. I tried several workaround, such as goign through a whole other soft-mod process, which gave me about 30% success on the WADs. The issue was error -1022, hash failure.

On a lark, I fired up a netbook I have and redid the whole process and it all worked just fine. I have no definitive proof, but I think the zip utility and finder on a mac screwed the process up.

I only wirte this on the off chance that someone with a Mac gets this far in the thread

    Cheers, Wiihacks!

Great place, greate staff, great stuff , just to say you thanks, with this great tutorial, i made multimedia for my Wii with SM 4.3E, even "Installed BootMii as IOS instead of boot2", but however is good that even we who have SM 4.3 can play backuped games, etc. from USB HDD ...

If you already have the HBC updated to the latest version, this will reinstall it and make sure it's running on the correct IOS. If it's not the latest version, it will update you as well.
