Awesome guide , worked like a champ
I am now playing games that are backed up to my HDD.
Was a bit nervous to do the mod , I have modded original Xbox's with chips and soft mods so I was almost sure I could do this and I did thanks to you
That worked kentmartin99 thank you so much. This has been driving me crazy for a week now and it was just the nunchuck I cant believe it
Thank you so much for your guide. Everything worked perfectly.
I've completed softmodding my wii 4.3e a few weeks ago. It's great by the way, playing games off USB is fantastic apart from my harddrive's partition disappearing while it was turned off during my holiday! Easily fixed but very strange.
Anyway I have a small problem. I tried to access the Wii Shopping Channel and it says I have to update my firmware to access the shop, but I have the most up to date 4.3e firmware. Is there a way to fix this??? Or is the Wii Shopping Channel no longer accessiable with a softmodded Wii????
Try following the shopping channel v 20 guide in my signature. Should fix it.
Damn I suck!!!!
hi. i've gone through this tutorial and i get stuck on the priiloader part where it says system menu hacks. when i click onto it it says something like can't find hacks.ini on nand file or something like that. also on my homebrew channel when i click on to to it i only have two files ie priloader and another one which is bootmi i think. on the 4.2 hack there's a lot more program options in the hbc. what have i done wrong please. thanks
Thank you Mauifrog from Estonia. Hacked my wii with indiana pwns (totat noob to wii atm). Everything worked well. I like most the option to play games from usb (packing up my games right now). Had some problems regarding Wii media player. It gave me exception error (or smthng like that) when trying to view youtube videos. But after an update through homebrew browser everything works fine.
But one question.
"Read the warning- Press +/A to install
After priiloader installs, it may give error or freeze- this is ok, it installed"
I pressed +/A and it gave some errors and froze (text got all fuzzy and there was nothing on the screen but some small white stripes (/) where text should have been.
The second part is odd. You said to hold down reset while booting. My wii didn't react to power button while the fuzzy screen was there and I unplugged it from power and plugged it back in. Then from there reset button and everything went exactly as you described.
Is that the way that one should do?
Thank you once more and sorry for my sucky english
If my whole purpose is to just enable region free operation (to play original NTSC-U games on my Japanese Wii), can I skip chapter 2 & 3 after finishing Chapter 1 (installing HomeBrew channel and bootmii)?
Thanks so much for your kind advice.
