oh i mean like a softmod 4.3 version and even then would be easy to update to it?

actually one of my questions wasnt properly answered, when i said downgrad to 4.1 does that mean i WILL need the iso version to play the game or can i still play 4.3 games on a 4.1 wii?

Games aren't reliant on SM number so yes you can play newer games on 4.1... when playing games through a usb loader the cIOS is used and not the IOS so as long as you keep the cIOS up to date then you should be able to play most games.

4.2 and 4.3 SM's were brought out to kill Homebrew and Mods so nothing useful has been added to the last two SM's. So generally we say it's useless updating to the newer SM.

Ok so I think I need to start my soft mod from scratch again. I can't get Skyward Sword to run, everything up until Skyward Sword has worked however. I have a lot of garbage on my sd card, a host of usb loaders etc and I have done a fair bit of rouge ios installation stuff so I think its probably looking pretty grim in its internal regions. Is there a way I could easily get everything up to current performance levels without re soft modding again? I had a mate do it last time and I fear my technical abilities mirror those of an elderly woman so I'm reluctant to take on the task. If the answer is no then I will take on this guide to soft modding. It says on the first page of the guide "soft mod for those with homebrew channel already installed" I suppose this is me? If so do I need top then follow every single step through to the end? A few questions. On page one it says to back up and format the sd. Is that as simple as copying the folder to my pc for backup and then formatting the card? Also, will I lose any save game data from this? Sorry about the marathon post but I'm dying to play Skyward Sword! You are legends if you help a fellow playa.

    Blocking system updates

There's something I need to be clear on (and it's hard to search for...)

After installing Priiloader and doing all the recommended settings, like "Block Disk Updates" & "Block Online Updates" -- that will completely disable any updating from the main Wii menu? 100% ?

The reason I'm asking -- I'm going to softmod a Wii for a family member who isn't very tech savvy. Even if I stress to him, "Don't ever update the Wii !!!", there's always a chance he'll click on it anyway. So if he ever gets to that prompt that asks, "Do you want to update your Wii?", it won't run, even if he clicks the button?

I notice in the guide that it installs SM 4.1. Is this safe to do if you have a later SM version (I'm currently running 4.2U)?

Thank you very much. I didn't think it would hurt but I decided to ask instead of blindly installing it (never a good idea).
