I saw what happened. I copy the ciospack to the SD card first and follow with the ModPack. My Mac just overwrite everything in the wads folder. Thanks for the help mauifrog.

I can't install these 4 wads for some reason:

    !!!IOS60-system-compatability-test.wad
    wad\cIOS247[37]-v21d2x6.wad
    wad\cIOS248[56]-v21d2x6.wad
    wad\cIOS250[57]-v21d2x6.wad

Does it have to do with the fact that this wii is already modded. I'm just trying to update it to play the new Zelda. Guess I'll try it with reload ios236.

ISO236 successfully installed the 4 wads I was having trouble with. I guess I should switched back to the original ISO to install the rest of the wads but I can't recalled what it was. I'm guessing it should be ISO249 right?

    Hello,

I have an older wii, with an updated system (4.3U). I was following the steps in Chapter 1 and came across a situation where I'm stuck. I used the SmashStack approach to load up HBC.

Steps 1 & 2 were completed, but when I started step 3 (creating a back up of the NAND), my wiimote gets stuck and is unable to communicate back with the Wii.

This is the step I'm trying to complete...

Load HBC, press -HOME-, launch Bootmii
    Make a nand backup
Press Power, Power, Power, Reset, Reset (or use gc-controller)
Power = Right, Eject = Left, Reset = Select

I get to the BooMii screen, where I can see the Wii, Homebrew Channel, SD Card and Configuration icons, but the screen seems to freeze at this point. The only way out is a hard reset.

Any ideas on how I can get passed this area?

    Thanks in advance.

are you trying to use a Wiimote within BootMii? If so, I don't think Wiimotes are supported in there.
You have to use a NGC Controller or the buttons on the Wii itself

I tried both ways... first by pressing the buttons designated by the steps for the wiimote, and also by hooking up the NGC controller and doing it that way. With out the Wiimote syncing with the Wii, I am unable to get the NGC to activate.

Are you speaking of the classic controller that connects to the wiimote? because that is not a gamecube controller.

Yes, I have the classic controller hooked with the wiimote. Its the 8 button with two joysticks on it. If I get the Gamecube controller, how will that make a difference if the main syncing device (wiimote) is unable to communicate with the Wii??

It has to be a gamecube controller. Your power and reset buttons will work too, just pay attention to the highlighted icon as you hit the power button.

Maybe because the gamecube controller is independant of the wiimote. It doesn't connect to it, and is not even aware of it's existance.

I just thought I would let you know that the Modpack v4's mirror (the second dl link) has 21 errors when verifying the md5, other than that, amazing tutorial, very easy to follow. Just curious, I have 4.2u still, I just got skyward sword, if I launch that game in some way other than the disk channel, will I still need to update the wii?

It's kinda the point of softmodding, to keep your system from messing itself up. Prilloader should be installed as well to prevent that disk channel mayhem. But loaders will use the Cios, which is independent of the IOS that would normally load, and may be in need of updating.
