Hi guys, I'm sure this will be for most of you out there a stupid question but here it is anyways...

I had my Wii console softmodded by a friend over a year ago (who I think was using the guide from Dogeggs). It's a 4.1U and I've since only went as far as loading games using the disk backup launcher (Neogama R8B7). I would like to re-organise my game library and set up my Wii to play games from a external HD which is, from what I read, much faster not to mention way more convinient! So my question is, if I follow this guide step by step, am I gonna be set up to do this (once I get and format a HD)?

Also, I ran signcheck once and posted the results on this forum and some guys had made the comment that my Wii was a total mess and didn't understand why it still worked??? This is also a concern for me, is there anyway that something on my Wii could interfere with this mod? Here is the signcheck result, I still have it on my pc...

I should also say that I am far from a pro at this stuff (although I did follow Dogeggs guide once with succes on a friends Wii) but this guide seems to be pretty straight forward and well detailled (thumbs up btw to mauifrog) so if (and hopefully it would) all goes well, I should be able to follow it...

Thanks to anyone who cares enough to reply.

follow this guide start to finish, verbatim, and you shouldnt have any issues at all.

on any wii ive worked on, i just go from start to finish and without a doubt, it works everytime.

BTW, I did part one of this guide using my SDHC card (see sig) and I've redone part two with it a few times. I've never had any problems/warnings/errors.
when im modding a console, i always use a 4gb card for part 2. i keep 3 cards handy, one for each step, when i mod a console. the only one that changes is part 1 and if its a 4.3, since i have to letterbomb.

LOL! I like your sense of humor!!! Happy to ear that the mod should work, I'll probably try it soon (when I can get a few hours without any distraction (KIDS)). So after this mod, I should be able to get a HD and to backup all the games to it and play them from there? I still have some reading to do on that subject, what is the best way and user friendly (for the kids) I like the cover art, makes it easyer for them to find the game they're looking for...

    Thanks again!

I prefer CFG which the app pack from this guide provides.. there is a link in my sig for the FAT32 guide that I'd also recommend for your hdd format.

Did I come off like a jerk?? Read more here

    Hi all,

I have a question about wiiflow. Here it is:

I was able to install wiiflow into the wii. Open it up through its own channel. However, no games are read. It only sees weather channel, shopping channel, Mii Channel, and so on. When I clicked at setup, and tried to change the partition. The only partition is SD. I could not change it to usb or thing else. Went back to the main page, clicked at the fishbow, and tried to change the partition again, nothing can be done because it wont change, SD only.

Am I missing something? any help appreciate.

    TIA

if you dont want the kids messing with the settings or anything like that, you can set your console to boot straight to CFG usb loader (most user friendly) so they dont have a chance to mess with any of the settings. i believe the .dol file for it is in this guide. simply install it on the priiloader screen (theres an install/something option on priiloader) and then in priiloader's settings, set it to boot to that file.

this has nothing to do with this guide.. ask about wiiflow in the wiiflow guide or start your own thread..

Good advice, thank you! I will try this mod as soon as I can (and hopefully wont add an item on the kids x-mas list!!?) and will post the results...

    Thanks again!

sorry about that. I know that it is not wiiflow thread. However, I have been asking around and have not received any response for this particular issue. Just hoping someone in here can help. That's all.

my apology for asking question here.
