I used this guide to update my wii. So basically i started from Part 1 "softmods with home brew channel installed". Everything went great. Thanks mauifrog.
Before updating i had CFG loader and Neogamma. After Updating my wii i see that i got an updated version of CFG and Neogamma (backup disk channel) but I still have the old CFG loader and old Neogamma installed.
My question is it safe to remove them and if so, how? Thank you.

Okay guys i'm sorry to do this and if an answer has already presented itself on one of the 1152 pages then i apologize

I have been trying to complete this guide for days without success, its probably because im a complete noob but i desperately need help before i waste away.
i have gotten myself smoothly to chapter 2 of the softmod guide which isnt saying much. my wii is a 4.3 and i have installed homebrew and such through letterbomb

when i get to chapter 2 however nothing works. I downloaded modpack and cios-pack-v4 and did the check which all went fine with no errors. when i go into my wii HBC though i cant get the MMM to work. i clicked the tile saying boot2 which is for MMM but it just goes into the 'dacotaco' loading screen and hangs. nothing happens. NOTHING! so i tried again and pressed home to get the HBC menu and clicked bootmii which makes the world go dark and makes me cry

i found the little drop menu saying if MMM doesnt work TRY THIS! so i did all that and installed the IOS and then i go to the MMM tile and it stops reading my SD 'error mounting device: SD'

please find me an answer! youll be saving this man from a brutal suicide
    Thank you

Have u reformatted the SD card? If the card has a read/ write switch make sure its set to writable.

Sent from my Nexus One using WiiHacks

Thank you for the quick reply, unfortunately my problem isn't so simple i wish it was. it is always set to writable, in honor of your response i did double check

One thing i have noticed that i feel i should add is that when i go into MMM after installing the IOS, the loaded IOS at the bottom of the MMM screen reads 58 before changing to 236. with the 236 loaded it doesnt read the SD but when i change the loaded IOS to 58 again it reads the SD so with that i tried installing the fun wads and it comes up '25 did not complete'

    Please help!
    JD

Edit: also from a previous bit of softmodding i already have priiloader, just in case this affects anything. my system is 4.3 E

You don't want to uninstall the wads. Doing that would brick your wii... Did all 25 wads install during the process?
Download the App pack and put that on your sd card...

What system menu are you on? If 4.3 then you will have the latest IOS... For usb loading cIOS is used and not the IOS anyway.
