Did you follow this guide? If so, there's a spoiler to click to update your softmod. If you did not, start with the spoiler labeled "if you have HBC installed." Yes, it's worth updating.
I have an existing 4.2U softmod that I did 2 years ago. Is it worth trying to update the softmod to newer versions of HBC, USB Loader GX, new cIOS files, etc?
What a Tutorial so well written and so easy to follow.
A big THANK YOU
I have a oubt, ... if I have 4.3U do I have to do this? Select the folder "System Menu 4.1" -press A does it downgrade to 4.1 or what does it do?
I wish people would read the guide --
Look in the
"Cios FAQ- What this mod installs" ............. Spoiler..
I'm not very knowledgeable but I did follow the instructions last year (summer 2010) and successfully softmodded my son's Wii! (Yeah!!!)
I have all his games on USBLoaderGX and this has worked well until today...
I just spent the $70 for Skylanders and the game is prompting for an update which I told my son NOT to go through with, and he listened (Yeah!!!)
Now, imagine an 8 year old with a brand new Wii game that he is told NOT to play with until Mom gets it ready...
So, long story short, I already have Homebrew channel and DOP-Mii v1.3, Priiloader, Syscheck, and WAD Manager 1.7.
System menu is 4.1U.
I read (and re-read a few more times) Mauifrog's guide to Softmod any Wii but I have the feeling that I shouldn't be starting from scratch and can probably just get a wad (or something) to update the system menu to what Skylanders wants (which I have yet to find out...)
I've been at this for almost 4 hours and I decided that a donation is warranted to get good advice. Syscheck is below.
Thank you for a great site and excellent forum.
