I tried both mod-packs and both semi-bricked the wii.

The fix was mentioned in my post above, however
this menu gave no option to select a different region.

Do you suggest that I follow the region change any wii
guide, or would an updated cIOS70 help with your guide
    too?

Another question pertaining to your answer, so if I had priiloader set to boot that dol instead, and it wasnt in the root of my SD, would it boot to a black screen or something similar? I ask this because I see that in the app pack this dol is in the root.

I ask the question for knowledgeable purposes.
No you can remove the dol from the sd. When you install it its installed to the wii's nand..

If you can get any hard drive to work, chances are the problem is with your drive, not with the cIOS. Not all hard drives are compatible. Have you confirmed that your hard drive is compatible? Additionally, you should make sure
    you prepped it correctly.
Provide us some details about what happens, etc.

Again, tell us what happens. Blackscreen? Do a syscheck and post it.

For disc loading, read the FAQ in my sig and see if your wii is compatible with discs. For syscheck, if you dont know how to use the search function, you could just click the word syscheck in my previous message.

    Version patched SM

Following your guide I installed the version patched SM WAD's, how do I revert back to the original SM? (originally 4.2E)
Is it simply HBC, BootMii, MMM, WAD Manager, Install WAD's by selecting folder containing 4.2E WAD's?
    Where are the WAD's found?

Sounds logical but just want to be sure this is safe and correct before going ahead and trying it, thankyou.
