I'm surprised its a U version... It was made in UAE and still its says 4.3U

Currently on the thirdstep of part 1.. its taking some time to get the nand backup but its worth it

lets see how things turn out to be

I have a couple of questions, though...
I bought an used Wii and it already had a softmod, when do I have to update the softmod? When starting a game and it goes to a black screen or problems can occur (due to outdated cios) or while running the game too?

I don't know which method the guy used to softmod it but can I update using this method (I would like to check the cIOS versions first)?

So, if I really need to update I should do:

1- Launch homebrew channel (Softmods with HOMEBREW CHANNEL installed)
2- Install The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii
    3- nand backup
    4- wad installs
    5- priiloader
    6- chapter 3

Right? Also, when I need to format the SD card or remove it for any reason whould I restart the Wii or during the softmod install the system SHOULD NEVER be restarted/disconnected from power?

Sorry for being a pain in the ass
Do yourself a favor and get a UPS, even a cyberpower at BB will work good for approx $60.00 As for updating you can follow this guide as stated. In a nutshell you normally don't have to reboot unless told to, unless say you want to load priiloader etc. You can remove the SD between steps no problem. Just do NOT lose power or remove SD while writing/programming/ios' etc.

    Hello,

first off, thank you so much for the tutorial.

secondly, i ran into a problem, i tried searching but couldn't find the solution.

the problem, I download the 'hackmii' installer and i have the folders "apps", "private", "wad" and then the 'boot.dol' file on the root of the sd card.

i insert to my wii that is running 4.2U and on the front of the menu, i click on the memory icon and nothing happened, nothing boot up.

i am using a 2gb micro sd sandisk w/ a kingston adapter, and its formatted to FAT32 and also tried with FAT.

    I hope everything is clear.

    thanks

Try again using a regular 2 gig SD card, not a micro. Bootmii can be very picky when it comes to the sd card used.

Unfortunately you can't. You can use something like Savegame Manager to back up your saves, but as far as running the saves from your HDD, as of now it isn't possible.

Thanks, I guess we'll have that feature in future.
