Hello, I successfully softmodded my Wii using this guide last month, and I saw today that at the bottom of the first post it said the guide was updated on the 23rd of October. So now, I wish to update my softmod. I checked the box which says about updating your existing softmod, and how you need to go through Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 again. I only really want to update my IOS and cIOS if they are out of date to run new games, so is there any way of doing this without repeating all of Chapter 2 and 3 again as I have already completed this and it all looks pretty much the same, and if so, could you please link me to the file(s) to download them please?

If it states that's what u need to do then that is what u need to do, I don't understand the reluctance to redo chapter 2 and 3, takes no time at all

Ok then, I thought maybe you could just install the cIOS and IOS files. I'll do Chapter 2 and 3 probably now, then.

Also, this will probably sound really stupid, but when I have completed Chapter 2 and 3, I can move back over files for like WiiFlow and VBA GX, right?

    Thank you for the reply.

Yes u can move the files back afterwards. Just to clarify, u can just install the cios if u want using mmm or something similar but the guides are here for inexperienced people so they don't fail an since u had to ask I put u in the bracket so safest thing is follow the guide as directed.

Okay then I'll just follow the guide then, better to be safe than sorry.

I was just a little confused as in the Update Your Mauifrog Softmod section, there isn't anything about the 10-24-2011 edit to the guide, the last one there is information about is 6/11/2011, the one I softmodded after. So I wasn't really sure if any cIOS etc was added in it or what exactly changed.

Again, thanks for the quick replies.

    I didn't load the WADs

I hacked my Wii and loaded everything except WADS. I haven't backed up the NANDs yet. Does it matter what order I do the hack? I notice the WADS were loaded first in the instructions. If I go back and load the wads, will it be ok now that I have the homebrew channel on the Wii? If I do load it after, should I back up the NANDs now and then load the WADS via the homebrew channel?

I know this may seem like a very Noob issue, so sorry. I have been reading the guide over and over as well as searching this thread but am unable to find the answer.

    .... really???

The guide is in a order for a reason...... you need to follow the ENTIRE guide from start to finish IN ORDER following it to a "T"

I know, I screwed up. I feel like a complete idiot. Should I just backup my NANDs and then load the WADs via the homebrew channel? I could just start from the beginning, but the guide states if you already have homebrew to load the WADs through it.

The beginning IS installing HBC... If you got HBC Via the guide then continue on to the next step after that. if you got it else where start from the spoiler tag "softmods with HBC"
