Never Uninstall IOS, or SM you will brick your wii
Never Uninstall IOS, or SM you will brick your wii
Press (1) to "Install all Wads" - Press A
3 wads should install without error
    "Press any button to continue"

    Hello,

I had a softmod before doing this guide, and I have couple of questions:

    1. I did everything from the beginning (chapter 1-2-3). The guide says to uninstall the mothballed channels by loading the Multi-Mod Manager for HBC. where do I find it? I don't have the Multi-Mod manager in my HBC menu, how do I get there?

    2. Everything works great, but I noticed that my Wii was downgraded from 4.2U (as I had) to 4.1U (probably the original FW my Wii had). Is this normal? I was thinking that by updating the CIOS and IOS, it would upgrade my Wii to 4.3. How do I upgrade to 4.3? Is this necessary?

Thanks for the guide, it helped me a lot.

    1. The mothballed channels reference only applies if you followed this guide when you originally modded. Regardless, MMM is a great app to have. Guide HERE

    2. 4.1 is the best SM to be on currently. 4.2 and 4.3 added no additional functionality. All they did was kill homebrew. FYI IOS and System Menu version are two different things. This guide installed all the latest IOS, and gave you the best SM to be on.

  4. 1 User Says Thank You cjizzle For This Useful Post

Thanks for the link to MMM. I followed the other guide before, so I need to uninstall them.

I just downloaded the ntsc-u pack without any issues. I did get an error the other day when downloading one of the pack but the morror link worked fine that day.

Thank you for the guide. I didn't encounter any issues while soft-modding.

Great guide. Thank You. I could not have done it without the step by step and collection of files found in this guide to provide me with the piece of mind to do it.

I was wondering, since cfg usb loader has options to use cios245 and cios246 and this guide doesnt install cios's to those locations, if there are any popular(useful) cios's for those locations?(not that the current ios's dont do the job, they do, just curious.) Plus there are options for 222-yal & 223-yal, which are older/unsupported cios's, but out of curiosity, am I right in thinking you would not be able to have BOTH m-load and yal installed at the same time (at least 222 & 223) because they take up that same location; or could they actually co-exist because they wouldnt?

Also, how come cios249 doesnt have usb support but all the other cios's that games use do(besided 236, that is, since thats for the trucha bug and not games)? Just wondering, not trying to be a d**k.

    Spoiler

Oh and nice touch including cios 202 for mplayer-ce, I didnt even know I wanted that app until later and its thanks to that cios being installed during the initial modding that it worked great when I tried it out.(I just read that it gets rid of the lag(which I didnt even experience because 202 was installed already)).
