No, the part that I found annoying --- intentionally wanting to update to 4.3 --- please explain to me one legitimate purpose to do so (aside from savemefrii, and we both know that's not what he was after)? The only reason 4.2 and 4.3 exist are attempts to disable, prevent, or make softmodding more difficult. All games that are backups rely on cIOS, not IOS. If there's some perceived issue with this user's Wii, rest assured it has nothing to do with whether it's on 4.1 or 4.3

Power up your Wii while holding down the reset button til Priiloader pops up.

hold the reset button while you power up the wii. Keep it pressed in until priiloader shows up. If it does not show up that means either you failed at correctly holding in the reset button (try again) or you failed at installing it (try again).

    Cool

I usually use Return of JODI to mod... But decided to try LetterBomb on the next Wii.... But in doing so I forgot to make sure the Wii didn't have a GC Memory Card plugged in... As far as I can tell everything installed fine... But now I've run into a problem that I don't think is related but I am wonder if I should redo all (Step1-3) steps again or start on Step2...

The way I understand it... Steps 2-3 can be redone without having to wipe anything up... Using BootMii the Wad's will simply be overwritten... Is this correct ???? & the NAND.bin, Key.bin & BootMii backed up in step 1 should be fine??? Although they where taken with a GC card in the Wii...

I think I am having an unrelated problem on that Wii with a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex HD. The model number is STAA500105 which I think is the same as the "Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex External USB 2.0/3.0 500GB STAA5000105 (Black) - Working" reported working in two USB Compatibility Lists... I am not sure why there is a 0 missing from my friends... But that is the way it is on the box... The problem is that after running any Loader the Wii can not recognized the GoFlex until the Wii is restarted... Loaders just go the black screen & the HBC doesn't show any apps... I've set the sleep mode of the GoFlex to "never" already & I've tried a cable from a WD drive that works fine but still the same problem... So something else is messing up with the Hd detection after running a program after first boot...

I did find the following possible solution (http://www.wiihacks.com/general-home...riod-time.html) but I am still trying to see if I can still keep this mod up to date with 249 v21 before trying which ever higher 249 v20b to v17 works... But wanted to try to redo the guide again first...

Thanks for any guidance anybody can provide...

Not sure what you mean by the very last remark, but this guide installs the D2X variant (a much-improved Rev 21 customized version) among both Hermes V4 and V5.1 --- in fact, the D2X is required for those USB 3.0 drives to guarantee their function relating to a Wii softmod.

    Thanks for the fast reply...

Right... This guide installs "cIOS249[38]-v21d2x6.wad"... Some one else having the same problem with a GoFlex hard drive was able to get over it by installing a cIOS249 v17 wad & someone else mention installing a cIOS249 [57] v20 wad to do the same and still be able to play Black Ops... I wonder if the problem is with the base [ ] that is being used on "cIOS249[38]-v21d2x6.wad"... Might have to test out "cIOS249[56]-d2x-v6.wad" & see if that changes anything...

As for the part about redoing the steps am I correct or am I missing something?

wonder if I should redo all (Step1-3) steps again or start on Step2...

    I have some questions:

1.If im in hbc and exit and then click on cfg loader channel i get " exception dsi error"
2.How can i update my cfg loader to v70 the guide is at v65 do i just update the .dol on the sd card or do i need to totally reinstall?
3.Its asking me to update hbc to v1.0.8 should i do so?
4.Where is the setting so the it boots off the hdd at startup?

***any way we could get mauifrog to update the guide for new users so they have to update things....thanks
