I understand that but I PREFER 4.2. It is the easiest for me to hack on and I've had more success on 4.2 rather than 4.1.

I just need to know if I can safely update to 4.2 using DOP-Mii or installing patched wads or etc so I won't brick. 4.2 gives me more benefits than 4.1 regardless.

I also assume that replacing the 4.1 installed patched IOS with ANY Stub will brick the wii but I'm not sure so I need clarification. Thanks.

its just the same procedure hacking a 4.1 wii like a 4.2 there both bannerbomb so you might as well do the 4.1 steps

Hi, I just did the thing you told me to do, (right click to format it, select fat32 etc) and it still didn't work. Still freezes when I get to the "Press 1 to continue" mark...

Could I have done some damage ?

    Hi,

I used this guide to softmod a Wii and then I was able to play some of my backup disk using the "Backup Disk" channel.

But when I put in "Mario Kart" the disk did loaded but a white message appeared on a black screen and the image was flickering a lot making it almost impossible to read the message. But I could make out something about "60 hertz" in the message.

So I check my backup disk iso image with the report of the "WiiBackupManager" and I saw the following about my "Mario Kart" game :

    MarioKartWii RMCP01 PAL 2648 MB

So it seems that this game was PAL and my Wii is NTSC.

    I have three questions :

    1) Could I damage something if I try to play such a game using the "Backup Disk" channel ?
    2) What are my option to play that game ?
    3) Would I experience the same problem if I used a USB Loader to load if from a USB HDD ?

    Thanks

You have to force the video to NTSC in your loader settings.

Just use NUSD to download IOS70 with all patches (be sure not to download the stub). Download SM4.2 (triple check the region). First install IOS70 with MMM, then install the SM. If you want to update to SM4.3 you need to get IOS80 (patched, and not the stub) as well.
Then you have to install PriiLoader. As a new SM overwrites the current PriiLoader.
If I've helped you, please press Thanks!

Not sure if this is the right forum. Just wanted to know, after the wii is modded, do the existing channels remain intact. Also, can I continue playing the original games that I have from the disk loader itself (I have heard that one loses the ability to play original games and that one has to load it from HB channel) ?
